J.Hud. will do the Whitney mini-Tribute -- they will probably do something bigger next year. Jennifer Hudson will pay tribute to her idol, Whitney Houston, at Sunday's Grammy Awards.
Houston died Saturday at the Beverly Hills Hotel. The cause of death has not yet been determined.
Show Ken Ehrlich said that Hudson will be featured in a "musical tribute." He said it's too fresh to do more at this time, but they had to note the Grammy-winner's amazing accomplishments.
Prior to the news of Houston's death, Hudson attended a pre-Grammy event Saturday where she discussed the impact Houston had on her career.
Hudson talked about her love for Houston's hit "I Will Always Love You" and said that she would "create duets with her because I wanted to sing with Whitney Houston."
Houston actually presented Hudson with her first Grammy. Hudson said meeting her idol "almost overshadowed getting the Grammy." Link: www.boston.com/news/nation/articles/2012/02/12/hudson_to_honor_houston_at_grammys/

I'm watching Whitney tributes on tv. I may be the only American who never heard her sing the Star Spangled Banner until today. I'm one of the few who likes the SSB sung without all the riffs that people feel compelled to do nowadays. But I have to say, that Super Bowl performance was amazing. It's a combination of her exuberance and vocal stunningness. I've never seen anyone own the SSB like that--no fear, no trepidation, just pure singing. Not only does she hit the high notes, but goes higher with ease. Maybe some day we will hear Adam do this. I don't think the time is right yet. www.youtube.com/watch?v=5jeUINzHK9oThe other thing I wanted to say is to repeat a comment I heard on CBS. How, during the '80s, she was the ONE who didn't need dancers and all the show biz stuff. She embraced the pop world and did it well. But she could just get up with a microphone and sing--old school. I guess we know someone else like that. I just love when a singer can just sing and not rely on other visuals, etc.

Just waking up.. I was out last night in the City and on the way home, heard the sad news of Whitney. I haven't read yesterday threads nor today yet) BUT Getting breakfast, I turn on the radio.... BOTH , BOTH of the stations of listen to WSTW 93.7 and Q102 just PLAYED BTIKMSPINS BABY, SPINS!!!!!!! made my day in the snow cold morning ;D Yay!!!Adam is looking incredible! I've said it before & I'll say it again - I LOVE his more natural look! He's gorgeous with or without makeup of course, but this is my favorite look. And I don't think his eyes look sad at all. In fact in this photo (my favorite from last night) he looks kinda playful. ETA: To clarify my comment about his eyes: I'm sure he was saddened by the death of WH & that probably showed in his eyes. But I meant that I don't think lack of makeup made his eyes look sad.

Hey guys - did anyone hear about Adam ever going to Reno (Nevada)? I was at a birthday party tonight and one guest said he was in Reno about 8 months ago and Adam was there - the hotel had a wing blocked off with security for Adam. He wasn't performing but was just visiting? Also, this guy mentioned he also ran into Adam at some fancy steakhouse and there was also security for Adam's group at the restaurant so no one really got close. I don't remember anything like this, and I can't really imagine what Adam would be doing in Reno anyway. Just wonder if anyone ever heard of this? Maybe Adam Levine? Doesn't sound like Adam Lambert to me. How the heck would he spend time in Reno without us Ninjas finding out? Such sad news about Whitney. I was in a movie yesterday when I heard. Previews were still on and I was just getting out my phone to silence it when I saw a text from a friend. It was the strangest thing sitting in a theater full of people who I figured all, or most, had no idea. It was a sad, odd two hours. Great pics of Adam from last night. My favorite "conservative" look would be the dark blue suit he wore for the night he sang the Natl. Anthem for Spielberg. I liked that ensemble a little better. The tie had some detailing on it that gave it a little personality. 8-) (I think it was that event... but I could be off.) But then again, I don't care what he wears.... I just want him to SANG! He could wear nothing at all and as long as he was singing, I'd be happy. ;D Have a great day everyone!
