Made all my radio requests this a.m. and voted on VH1. It takes less then 5 minutes. After watching the Grammy's and listening to Adele's acceptance speech thanking all the radio stations for playing her songs (since they aren't necessarily POP) gave me new incentives to keep making my BTIKM requests. Hey, if Adam is out there pimping his song, the least I can do is request!
ETA: Also sent my Charity Water tweet out to the twitterverse.

Adam Lambert, is not official until shared by Sony Music publicly @rcarecords @rcalabelgroupuk @sonymusicglobalThis has to do with some people tweeting stuff about various release dates about Adam's album and they want to clarify that if the info doesn't come from these accounts then it's not official. This confuses me. Are they saying the March 20th is still official because they have already announced it. They did, right? I think we've seen official announcements from RCA :-/ Or are they saying they have not announced an official date yet? |

I think I was reading that this was due to one group of UK fans saying that an admin on another UK fansite had said the date would change, and badgering Sony on twitter about giving out selective information. Sony was basically saying clam down UK fansites and wait to get your UK date info from us if I understood correctly. |

Q3, pretty sure that the vocals on the Bruno song are done. I think it might be Dr Luke who is working on the song and adding his production to it. Of course, as Ex Pr, Adam needs to hear the finished product but not sure he needs to be there while they are working on it.

explained it to you. It has to do with @ukglambert just for the UK release of the album and their tweets to SonyMusicGlobal. They were tweeting a lot to SonyMusicGlobal , that's why RCA tweeted this.

Thinking about Adam & Adele. Adam to me is the male Adele, a powerful voice,personality galore and fans who love him. I think Adam needs a glory song ,no WWFM but an Adam song that show cases everything about him. I remember reading a critique on our man which said that everything that is needed for Adam is there except that hit song. I am so hoping that Trespassing.. gives Adam that song to super stardom. I agree that Adam needs a great, signature song or 6 (I am greedy!!) And based on the buzz, I htink a couple are on Trespassing. But I do not think there is any song that could showcase everything about Adam as a vocalist -- he is an amazingly versatile singer -- and as a person. --- On the Adele comparison, I think Kelly Clarkson is more like Adele than Adam. (Although IMO Adele is a more developed songwriter and more to my taste as a vocalist. I am a Kelly fan, so this is a huge compliment to Adele.) --- Adam's biggest challenge is that he is not that much like anyone else out there and is genre-shifting. Closest I can come up with is Pink -- for the pop-rock music and ability to do ballads. But his next single is likely to be Trespassing, Cuckcoo or the Bruno Mars track and that will be an upbeat dance track. BTIKM is a light mid-tempo electropop (as classified on most music sites and digital radio) and is not much like what is getting airplay on US Radio. Adele's RITD was also not much like what was getting played on Top 40 radio in the US, so the two artists/songs have that in common. Difference is that RITD was a great fit for HAC, AAA, Urban and even some AC stations. So once it was proven in other formats and #1 in several other countries, it was added to US Top 40 hits stations -- and listeners loved it. BTIKM can only go so far on HAC even if it tops the chart (it is a relatively small format), it needs to get support from Top 40 PDs to be a hit. I think the fate of BTIKM is pretty much in the hands of Z100 right now. If they decide to really go with it, it has a shot. Otherwise, it will need a few big stations to really champion the song so it has a shot. Also, if/when KBIG comes on board and if they play it a lot, that could help give it a boost. We'll know in the next few weeks -- but is looks like it will take time to build on radio. |
