Hmmmmm, between Adam's "this is just the start of what's to come" and Gabriel's "phase 1"...makes me excited to find out what else is happening.

Hmmmmm, between Adam's "this is just the start of what's to come" and Gabriel's "phase 1"...makes me excited to find out what else is happening. Finally, a real statement from Adam about "what's to come!" Now we just have to wait and find out just what "what" is.

I'm happy for Adam that he got to re-release WWFM his way. But at that time, they probably did the right thing to help him have a successful song and career and I'm glad he listened. I still think the unfair drama around the FYE single, the album cover and the disastrous AMA performance cost him a platinum selling album (he was so close) and almost his career. With WWFM, he followed their advice and it put him on a path to success and he had his biggest US hit. I'm sure it hurt for him to change it but his success helped pave the way for others. But thankfully today hardly anyone blinks about the pronouns LGBT artists use in life and even less in a song. But there are still limits. Sam and LNX came on the scene when attitudes were changing and they had big success. But the ridicule they are experiencing now by being so OTT seems to be setting their careers back or at the very least slowing them down. It may feel good to do what you want and make a statement. But maybe not so helpful to the community to be viewed as a caricature. Adam has a great balance, respect, reputation and instincts and he has done well with a long successful career. He has been in demand everywhere except radio. Not sure what the problem was but it was not pronouns that made Pop radio abandon him after a few hits. Maybe it was his age or he never fit in, or he was not viewed/accepted as a Pop or pop/dance artist by TPTB so they were lukewarm in their support.
But good for him for recording WWFM they way he wanted. And looking forward to "what's to come" and the next chapter to advance, grow and move his career forward.
