Oh, I'm gonna need popcorn for this new era. EDM isn't my regular jam. But I like a good beat when I walk, work out and dance around after dinner. I'm a bit gobsmacked that some fans are 'concerned'. Have they not been paying attention? Adam will Adam.Perhaps time to treat that as a verb to "Adam" Meaning to embrace what lights you up and makes you happy. Yep. I hope he's excited about being able to put out this EP. Not concerned, he's an adult and it's his career. Made me a little bit sad though to see a comment from some lady on FB that said she didn't want Adam to shove his gayness in our faces. So I guess she can overlook he's gay as long as she doesn't have to see it? Adam has been pretty outrageous on occasion over the last 15 years, and even before he was in the public spotlight. Has she not been paying attention?Yep - my thoughts. If people are shocked or surprised they must live in a distorted reality. |

I am scratching my head a bit at the BB article/interview with a slight touch of sadness, especially as it follows the China "singer" event where Adam played the "industry game" to perfection. I may be over-analyzing, but I am a bit confused to learn from Adam that pretty much everything prior to this new era has been a performance playing the game. I somewhat get it that he had to put on a persona of sorts with regards to fronting Queen, but what about his own music? I as a fan did have the impression that a good chunk of his music spanning over several albums was authentic indeed, at least at that time, but does it lack authenticity now as it is less explicit? I am staying away from final judgement on the whole EP, but for now I am leaving it to Adam and his party circles to get excited about "move your bodies to LUBE and WET DREAM". May be this is finally Adam's time to recruit more queer representation within his fandom.

I just have to throw it out to the OG old-timers here that a few others and myself tried to discuss this concept of 'performance'...which is a form of something called "emotional labour" and/or "Aesthetic labour". Nobody wanted to listen to us and banned us to "The Dark Side". One of Adam's names for it was "man-drag". This was never a secret. |

Adam has been with and without a major label over the years. He has always been gay. There have been many times he could do anything he wanted and there was no one to stop him. And there have always been some who wanted to see him throw caution to the wind and amuse them no matter what it meant for his career. So I'm going to go with those who say different sides presented for different audiences. But they are all the "real Adam". Right now, he wants his crew, his love and his community to be excited about his music and what he is doing. He is doing what he wants for now. We will see how much support he receives from his community. But there is no way I believe that everything Adam has done up to now has been fake. HA.
