Just as an aside, she mentions Dimash and I've heard him mentioned on a lot of other channels, mostly because he can sing really high. I decided to check him out, and man, what a clear difference FOR ME between him and Adam. His songs sound technical, clinical? almost, but I don't hear any personality. All my opinion of course. Adam makes me FEEL...I don't get any feeling from Dimash when he sings. Adam is a vocal masterclass...there's just nobody that can beat him for my ears. All those comments she just made in this particular video....I don't hear that in anybody else. I really, really hope he continues to put out this kind of music. Songs like Lube, etc. just don't showcase his voice and his expertise, IMO.15 years later, and he still gives me goosebumps. She appreciated Adam but she almost drove me to drink (and I rarely drink) with her always singing, lol. Didn't want to hear her trying to do what he was doing so well. HA. I saw Dimash competing on a show several years ago and I watched because some of his fans were arguing that he hit higher notes than Adam. Maybe he did but he was not a better vocalist. And how would you even know unless Adam's purpose was to show how high he could go? Like you, I felt nothing when Dimash sang. Adam uses his voice to show emotion and that does not always mean to sing as high as he can. Songs like Closer to You make me a little said now because I miss songs like that. The lyrics are meaningful and the vocals out of this world. Obviously his circle likes the dancing and partying and EDM music and I guess Adam does too. At least we know he did when he was younger. But he went on Idol to help showcase his voice and talent and it carried him way past that professionally. He said he has evolved with this era but it seems at 42 he has gone back to pleasing the club kid crowd. I'm thrilled that he is enjoying this era and it makes him happy. He is entitled. But I so hope after this EP is out, he will go back to making music that shows what a brilliant talent and artist he is. I know others may disagree but this dance and EDM music seems a waste of a big talent. And I wonder if he will continue down that road or move on.I agree that EDM music is a waste of his unbelievable talent. Nobody sings like him...I'm also hoping this EP is a phase lol. Keeping fingers and toes crossed

I do love it when vocal coaches, esp. those who also perform, watch Adam perform for the first time. They are always impressed. This particular one, who sings opera, seems to know exactly what she's talking about when it comes to technique and tone. Adam sure has those skills mastered. I don't know who Dimash is, and he may have a great voice, but singing high notes isn't everything. Even when he hits his highest notes, Adam's voice has a warmth that I find in no other singer. When he sang Nessun Dorma with Queen, I was blown away. Then I went and listened to Pavarotti sing it. He was THE master of all opera tenors, for sure. But his ND sounded rather shrill and cold to me. I know I'm biased as hell, but I stand by my assertion that Adam voice is the richest and warmest I've ever heard, even with those high notes.
Can't wait for the interviews that are coming up, and the documentary!

And I understand why he would want to grow his audience to include his community and the younger ones taste in music. But I'm going to hope that he won't be satisfied with just a niche audience. Even they will outgrow the clubs sooner or later. Maybe, lol. And music to exercise/dance to is fine but can't they enjoy rocking out also and listening to emotional and moving ballads? Anyone can do the other stuff, and they do, but not many can do what he does, the way he does it. He has a rare talent and I wish that more could get to hear more of it. More recognition for an extraordinary talent is my hope.

Keeping fingers and toes crossed Another perspective and opinion.. I don't consider anytime that Adam is singing, a waste. His voice elevates any song for me, even his current songs, and although I really love songs like 'Closer To Me', he doesn't always have to sing with all the vocal techniques available to him for me to enjoy him singing a song. I appreciate all his musical explorations when it comes to singing and am glad he is talented and skilled enough to be able to sing any genre and make it his own. Like any great creative artist, I'm sure he enjoys exploring the vast musical landscape that's available to him and doesn't restrict himself to singing only one kind of music or being put in a musical box in any way. For me, it's all about his voice. Adam keeps evolving, and although it may seem like a step backwards with his current musical direction for some, he has never been able to fully and openly expore this kind of music up until now, so this is an evolution forward for him..

I enjoy the singing breaks. No fun at all to watch reactions that just bop to the music and I roll my eyes at the guys who instead of discussing the singing discuss the lyrics.
