Today is a real feast for the eyes and ears! Love seeing the segments of the interviews Adam has done recently. He is SO SO great in interviews. Smart and witty and informative. Can't wait to see the doc with Brian and Roger talking about Freddie's sexuality. Apparently, it's the first time they've done this in a depth. Kudos to Adam for thinking of doing this documentary. Would be interesting to do an American version. Also, the segment here on Adam and Oliver is so good. Oliver has a strong resume, to be sure. He's smart and focused, and of course, he loves Adam.
PLEASE if you can, watch the documentary that began its first episode last night on PBS. It's called "Disco: Soundtrack of a Revolution." This is NOT NOT NOT a lightweight, frivolous documentary. It's a serious, in-depth look at the music culture in NYC in the early 70s. It dwells A LOT on the gay community of that time, who had a deep influence on social life and music in NY. Some key people are interviewed. There is lots of great footage of dance clubs, gay culture, etc. and the evolution that led to disco. They have just aired Episode ! so far. I highly recommend it!
It really makes me think of Adam's journey and how deeply he feels about those who have come before him. I think his own legacy will be a lot more important that we realize right now.
