Someone said gay men were reclaiming the word and making it a positive. But the c-word insult was not directed at them but at women. Just wanted to pop in to say that I heard it in the wild this weekend at a Lesbian Pride pool party so I asked about it. "Are we using this word now?" Since I'm in my something something 40s.. I'm not always up on the latest queer lingo but I've been watching this convo evolve around Adam's music. The answer was YESSSS we are. Its NOT JUST GAY MEN, but queer in general. And in this case was used to compliment a women who had a "glow-up" after a breakup a while ago while her ex was def noticing from across the party.. (lost weight, changed her hair, got some tattoos..) I had to laugh.. maybe any parallels to Adam's emotional journey of the last few years? It makes so much sense, for those of us who are in tune with the parts of his daily personal emotional journey he chooses to share. He's been through ALOT since even before the Pandemic, and look at him now. Anyway.. I realized that if that's the new definition of the word (particularly when used as a five letter word with a Y)... I don't have to be offended on behalf of all the people who worked hard to show their critics or their exes "eff you loser, look at me now".
