OMG so I've just spent 30 minutes reading a board discussing Sonisphere, Queen and Adam. Very, very interesting. I'd say 60% of what I read were excited to possible see Queen and were passively interested in see how Adam would do & spoke with respect; 30% were jazzed about Queen and didn't have an opinion pro or con about Adam, but were open minded; 5% Queen should be retired w/o Freddie & 5% Adam sucks. LOL Now... what I loved about all this is that there was no undertone of .. that guy is gay and flamboyant. So refreshing. I was kind of on the fence about this Sonisphere gig.. now I can see the benefit or at least not the drawback. I would think, or at least hope, that even if these ppl weren't fans of Adam's that after they saw him sing with them they would at least respect the fact that he is maybe one of the ONLY male singers who can do justice to Freddie's singing. I am positive they will at least like him more than Paul Rodgers lmao wouldn't it look a little strange to have undertones bemoaning Adam being gay while discussing him performing with Queen? ??? |

What artists are on your own iPod? I listen to a lot of Top 40 stuff to be honest. I’ve learnt a lot about what radio friendly music is. I’d hate for people to think I was cashing in with this album. I mean, it is more radio friendly but that’s just the direction I wanted to do. I want my message to be heard, my fans to be represented and for people to know why I’m doing this. The point of this album is it doesn’t matter if you’re the theatre dork, the outcast, the goth or anything else – you can be valid in the world. This answer jumped out at me too, Bridget, especially after all the conversations we've been having recently on this board about Adam's aiming at radio-friendly songs. It speaks to the thing about Adam that perhaps fascinates me the most, and if I ever get the chance to ask Adam a question, this is what I would ask him: Your have your roots in the underground LA art scene, but you're making your career as a true top-40 pop artist. How important is it to you that your music be widely and easily accessible, and can you explain why? He comes from this world of underground shows, fringe-artists, the crazy-club-kid scene, burning man, zodiac, cabaret, queer performance art, outre musical acts. But he's not in any way a music snob, and he's genuinely into mainstream pop, and this sense of easily accessible pleasure, of a widely resonating message that reads well in the mainstream, is almost an active philosophy for him. He wants to make music that as many people as possible can enjoy--he wants to do that not because it makes him more money but because he believes even the "weirdos" want to love what's easy to love, and can be part of that popular world. Adam may be "a freak," but he believes fervently in giving pleasure to the masses, and THAT, to me, is the definition of the perfect POP (ular) STAR. Hope with all my heart, for him and not for me, that he gets that big, radio-friendly mega-hit. |

Nuts.. Adam losing steam on ITUNES.. #11.. Any more gifting that we can all do!! Really don't understand how LMFAO manages to hold onto #1 and #2 spot for so long with those insipid songs. : I've been wanting to gift, but unfortunately there's something wonky with my iTunes.. won't let me do it. :( |
