Cassie: I have leave for a few hours, but I want you to tell me why after I've listened to every interview and station performance the first half of this BTIKM has me in tears. Seriously, it felt like someone broke my heart when I listened to it. It's not the last one of the night nor the first of the morning, everything is hunky dory in my personal life, but there is something about this rendition. Do you feel like Lucy from Peanuts cartoon? Just tell me where to send the $.05. I LOVE to talk about Adam's voice and performance. My favorite topic -- well, after talking about my puppies, but that is another forum. As to your question, I cannot talk to your emotions or what YOU hear, but I will tell you what I hear. Music seems designed to pull at our hearts. It can do that even if there are no words, or the words are in a language we don't understand. There is a lot of research on this, and for many, there is a neuro-chemical response involved. Music inspires, invigorates, soothes, makes us happy, makes us sad or melancholy. There is something more special, however, about certain singers and certain voices. Adam's voice is so versatile, he can play it like a master plays a Steinway grand piano or a Stradivarius violin. Angelina has a program about the singer as an interpretive artist which you might appreciate. www.southbath.wordpress.comBecause Adam has such a beautiful and finely honed voice, I appreciate it even more when it is exposed, front and center, with little instrumental accompaniment or back up vocals. And while Adam in full performance mode, belting out the melody passionately, is larger than life, in these acoustic versions, particularly at the beginning of BTIKM, Adam dials it back to an intimate conversation. He floats that voice with tenderness and absolutely no strain. The purity of his vocal tone reflects the purity of his message and his emotions. When he takes the chorus up to the top notes, it is so soft, so exposed, so vulnerable that I have a visceral emotional reaction. I FEEL what he is feeling. I am grateful that Adam has chosen to risk it all to sing just for me. (Risk, because that way of singing is very difficult to do, despite how simple it sounds. Risk because tho' it feels like he is singing just to me, in actuality there is not only a room full of people crowded up to him, but also a large radio and internet audience listening. He knows every note will be recorded and preserved. And risk because he must tap into inner emotions and reveal them to us to make us believe what he is singing about.) That's what I hear. What about others?

Somebody said earlier that maybe if we watched BTIKM more on VH1 so the view count goes up it would make the top 20. Definitely no because that 'Safetysuit' video has less than 5000 views and it made the top 20. Jim Shear said at the end of the countdown said that is we think our favorite has been unfairly treated we should talk to him on twitter. I would say that he is expecting a Glambert onslaught. In the past they have always had a countdown contenders mention on the countdown. Did I miss it? Well, geez, if he gave an INVITATION for peeps to talk to him on Twitter, twat away!! ;D [runs back in for a moment] Hey guys - if anyone Tweets Jim Shear, can you please bring the tweets back here? Heck please bring over any Adam-related Jim Shear tweets. Since he said he's available to talk, would like to hear any responses he may say. Thanks!! [runs back out]

Watching 'Top 10" and I think it wasn't the best decision to make Adam just stay beside this girl, he's so much better when he can move around. :-/

Obviously votes play a pretty tiny role in the VH1 Countdown. I'm also curious about the countdown history for FYE. Could we be looking at a similar situation, and maybe BTIKM not making the countdown has more to do with what RCA has planned than anything else.

Pretty sure FYE made the countdown its first week and then it was pulled.

Okay, I'll try again. Where is Adam? Did we find out? No one knows where he is at the moment. He can be pretty good at hiding when he wants to.

How aggravating was that!! I had taped MTV so didn't worry about it when my mom then my sister called. Watched it and the show shut off half way through the last segment of BTIKM. Hopefully it's on YouTube so I can watch the final minute or so.
