Not sure how many find Afters "funny", but what some consider "entertaining" and "inspiring" may be raunchy or not to their taste for others. Adam knows it, otherwise he would not call out those who clutch their pearls, especially if it is "only" 1 or 2 per 100 likes.
I am slowly getting myself ready for my "divorce" from Adam lol. It's just not for me anymore, in many ways. Will miss the fandom.

Not me...excited to see what he's up to this year and next. Now, if Afters becomes the music he's doing from hereon in, I may change my mind, but Afters is just a very small blip on his 15-year career so far.

I don't think we can judge Adam's entire body of work by this one EP, he gives us such a variety of things, there must be something that will interest you? Perhaps the Broadway run? Or his voice work in animated series? But if its that you are disappointed in him as a person, I guess you will have to move on and find other interests, it happens. |

I have enjoyed every phase of Adam's career so far. I said at the beginning that is would be a bumpy ride, and it has been. He appealed to me at first because of his amazing voice and also that boyish, almost shy quality that he had. I still love him for those things. He has gone through many phases, as we all have. A musician's career is a tenuous thing. You kind of have to make it up as you go along. I'll be in his fandom for as long as I can. I have enjoyed some eras more than others, but he's still a good human being, making choices and doing the best he can. And it appears that he has a healthy fanbase world-wide, too.
HE IS NEVER BORING. And he's gorgeous and sexy.

But he seems to be at a stage of his life where he is trying to hang on to or revisit his younger club kid self. He nor his fans just discovered sex. But he has added an "I'm gayer than ever" angle so I guess it is meant to be shocking to those outside his community. It seems exciting and sexy to him and his friends (not sexy at all) to put it into words. Then he throws out insults to those that the music was not made for, but gave it a listen because it was him. Many find the music unappealing and rather uninteresting and some find it vulgar. For me, I mainly just don't like crappy music, lol. Don't really care if his party buddies or boyfriend influenced him, it is juvenile music and several steps backward, imo. But he has a lot of fans who have supported him so not sure that putting them in "their places" (cause they don't give a shit what he does in the bedroom) is wise and are now treated as homophobic. All very strange. And a very unappealing, defiant and disappointing look that is hard to see coming from him. I know there are others who disagree, like the music and think it is all sassy and great fun. And I don't need anyone to tell me not to listen, if I don't like it. I'm more than capable of deciding for myself, but thank you very much anyway. HA. Will look forward to what he has planned in the future. |

I don't care for this EP and for the first time, I won't be buying it. I mean, I even bought the Pre-idol music he had put out and every Idol song he sang....so this really is a first. But I am fine with that. The only things that really bother me is using the most hurtful term you can for his "old lady" fans ...and then gaslighting anyone who dares say anything by suggesting they are just homophobic and small minded. That is abundantly not so and unfair. That all said, I am hanging in for the time being. He has been such a kind and caring person for such a longtime, these careless actions are unexpected...which, of course, is why it all seems like a huge wallop of cognitive dissonance. |
