I don't think "rock" is used as a blanket term tho they sometimes use it in other genres or for other artists at different times. But it is most often used for Adam and I think that is a good thing. It is especially good since he is not getting radio play, label support or hit records like the women pop stars who dominate pop. Sorta good for him that he is viewed in a different light from most of the dancing and non-singing divas, where many just disappear after a few years. His persona is very rockstar and always has been until lately, imo. But his latest venture has not received a lot of mainstream recognition or promotion by him (outside mostly gay friendly venues or around his friends and community). So I think his rockstar status is safe for now, lol.
And I agree, Adam has a very diverse and long lasting career that appeals to all types of audiences. And he is viewed as a serious artist, personality and activist who has a ton of success.
The Voice has a superstar artist (country), Morgan Wallen. He dominates the country charts. Two of his last albums, with a label push, were at the top of the BB200 charts for 10 to 20 weeks (many consecutive and his streaming numbers are off the charts). But I don't think much credit can be given to TV because he did not last on the show long enough to make an impact. But he was discovered later, signed and became a huge success. And I don't think he has ever even been back on TV nor have I heard them claim him because they cannot. HA. His success is pretty amazing. Even Carrie has not had that level of success on the BB charts tho she does have a ton of success and award wins. But he has won some awards (no Grammy's yet) but many more may come his way too in time. He has only been out since around 2016. There was major pushback and an uproar and bad publicity when it was discovered that he had used the N-word with his friends and that slowed his progress. And it should have because that is not a word for a white man to lightly throw around, even with friends, but he worked his way back. And I think I saw somewhere that he had graduated to headlining arena tours. I guess you can do that when you have massive radio play and land on the huge Spotify playlists.

lurleene, thanks for the heads-up on Morgan Wallen. Good for him that he has broken through to the top. But, personally, I think it also has to do with him being in country music. CM is such a huge entity, with millions of fans and a kind of interior loyalty within itself. They usually embrace newcomers to their fold. They take care of their own. Nice that he also survived his "N" word slip. Kind of like Adam's AMA mishap. Except Adam paid a bigger price. On the other hand, rock/pop seems more cutthroat, "every man for himself." I sometimes wonder how different things would be if Adam had formed a permanent band of his own, gave it a name, and created a "band identity" with him as the frontman. All the members in a band can be a draw to fans. But that's just my own musing. Adam has made a name for himself and has broken through the fame wall to the point where lots of people know who he is, whether they are fans or not. It's not easy to do.
Now I'm going to look up Morgan Wallen.

I cannot find the dates or shows for December that Adam won’t be performing. In fact, I have not successfully been able to find out how to get tickets online. I go into what seems to be an official site, but no luck. Will some kind soul tell me where I can find Adam’s December dates? I searched some through this site. I know it is here somewhere. My husband has just surprised me with Christmas in NYC to celebrate latest clear cancer scans!

Now I'm going to look up Morgan Wallen. That Morgan thing was WILD. He did not call anyone the N word as a negative, but just as he was rising high on the country charts, he called one of his drinking buddies the N- word and a neighbor taped it and leaked it to the press. It looked as if he was going to lose everything. They took him off the radio. His label suspended him. They cancelled just about everything. But those country fans started streaming and buying everything in sight and he went so far up the charts, and just stayed there, that they had no choice but to forgive and re-instate him. He did apologize and made some kind of donation to the NAACP or some other AA organization. And black country artists said he was not a racist but got carried away while drunk. His award wins suffered as he did not win according to his success but I think in time he will get them too. But once he got back on country radio, every song he put out went to #1. And if you are on the all genre album charts at #1 for 10 weeks straight then re-enter again, they really had no choice. And you are right, country will look out for their own.

Wow. That Morgan thing was bigger than I thought. I read his Wiki history. He really did get slammed. But his fans stepped up and streamed his music like crazy and the label had no choice but to support him. Funny how things worked out for him. Ah, the sins of singers and the prices they pay. Morgan for a racially-charged word and Adam for a risky kiss.
Gonna be gone for the week. Gope to check in here from time to time when I can. Looking forward to finally seeing The Voice clips!

You can google Seat Geek Cabaret I had no trouble at all. Or you can go to the theater and scroll down and see all the dates and when you click on the date you want it will tell you if Adam is performing or not.
