Blinds are done. Adam has some good singers. Too many shouty belty girls for me. Maybe he can get them to tone it down a notch. Will be interesting to see what he does with them. There are a few standouts on other teams. The last girl chosen on Team Kate (Jaymee) had everyone raving, but I seriously couldn't understand a word she mumbled or sang. As usual, coaches will pair two good artists against each other and be left with an impossible choice. My least favourite part of this show. I am so over a$#hole companies that accept your money/services etc. then offer goodies...then make you fill out a form only to not actually tell you that you are not eligible because you are not a U.S. American. There is no reason at all that there could not be a little codicil at the top of the invite telling you, YOU ARE NOT INVITED...like be straight. Ditto stores who don't let you know until you are ready to hit the 'complete' button that the dollars are US currency [which adds close to a third to our cost, not to mention the shipping]. Seriously..... |

Very very unfortunately, there is an effort to disenfrancise American citizens who have "foreign sounding" names or who live in "foreign populated" districts by, you know who. Bravo to Broadway for attempting to make citizens aware that there are attempts to remove them from the voter rolls. Or to make them fill out provisional ballots, which will of course be subject to challenge.
This is not a money-making promotional, but a legitimate outreach to make sure American citizens' votes count.
Broadway performers will also be conducting phone call banks to encourage US voters to go out and vote. The list generated by this promotion will no undoubtably be used for that purpose.
If you need more to schedule a visit to MYC to go see Adam in Cabaret - well, I guess we could accommodate you if you lack lodging - although we live 90 minutes away. We are going on Sept. 28 for the matinee. We are in NJ. There are tolls across the Hudson River, and parking garage fees, so it's not cheap, and for a visit to NYC, I could offer a room, but you would probably be better just finding a reasonable hotel.
