Haha. Every time I hear Adam do an accent, he pretty much nails it. He has a good ear and an good instinct for it. I think his German will be just fine in Cabaret. Most people don't know the difference anyway, unless they're German. I think that all eyes will be glued on him and not so much on his German accent. Can't wait to hear how the first show goes! I he'll tweak the role here and there over time.

Someone brocke Up with Adam while He was in the Hospital?! Any guesses WHO it was? From the timing from when he said he was fried in 2019 - I think Javi was 2019. Of course, not sure , maybe someone else has some guesses.

Guys, this is not today's thread I don't think. This is a pinned thread for Cabaret spoilers, for those who see the play and want to share. Can you copy all your posts to today's thread?

Most people don't know the difference anyway, unless they're German. I think that all eyes will be glued on him and not so much on his German accent. Can't wait to hear how the first show goes! I he'll tweak the role here and there over time. As a German I have to say that Adam‘s pronunciation is actually really good, as long as he can repeat and learn the correct pronunciation. The Katya guy in the video wouldn’t be my choice for a teacher. But Adam has a talent to reproduce all kind of sounds and therefore also to speak (or rather reproduce different languages with their different vowels and consonants ect. As for Cabaret: I always knew the main song, but it really took me until a couple of weeks ago (when checking out the musical Adam will be in a bit closer), that the opening number even in the English language actually starts with the German „Willkommen“ and has some more German words in there. Clearly the „Willkommen“ is often spoken in such an unusual way to a German listener, that I didn’t recognize it. 🫣 Well, I hadn’t expected it, so that’s part of the reason. But also the „i“ in Willkommen is a short one in German and not that loong like the English speaker often pronounce it. It’s more like something between a German i and e. Also the emphasis would correctly be on the second syllable, not on the first. But I think that doesn’t fit the song? Also 99,9% of the listeners won’t care. 😉 But if someone is curious, how the German parts of the opening song is pronounced by a German speaking cast: Here is Conchita Wurst performing it at the Life Ball opening 2017 in Vienna. youtu.be/AVGL-m9rQcY?si=cb8Ml8msv32768RU
