saw Cabaret last night. Adam is very very good. The whole cast is excellent. YAY! I was wondering if anyone from Adamtopia had seen it yet. Had you seen other versions of Cabaret?

Wonder if it's kind of a mindf**k to see him looking like this as compared to the Queen version of Adam, the rocker version.

I have seen many versions of Cabaret -- regional theater, community theater as well as the Sam Mendes Broadway production with Alan Cumming and Natasha Richardson. I much preferred the Sam Mendes production to the current one -- I thought it hit harder and that Cumming and Richardson were really special. I did not like the way the current production approached the ending of the show and I did not quite understand what they were going for. And I also prefer a more vulnerable Sally to the agressive, shouty version in this production. That being said, this is a GORGEOUS production, very enjoyable with a terrific cast. Bebe Neuwirth is, as always, wonderful (and I love the idea of Adam hanging out with Dr. Lilith Sternin Crane/Velma Kelly lol). Auli'i is very good and got the crowd cheering for her rendition of Cabaret (she smashed it). Adam is terrific throughout- both his acting and vocals. His emcee is more clownish than sinister, but that, again is a production/directorial choice. As always his vocals were great -- and his renditions of tomorrow belongs to me and i don't care much were just beautiful, well interpreted. It is very obvious why he chose this as his broadway debut. Crowd loved him and deservedly so.

Wonder if it's kind of a mindf**k to see him looking like this as compared to the Queen version of Adam, the rocker version. For most of the show it actually aligns with rock star adam -- who has always had a really campy side and likes heavy makeup. the mindfuck is during the last quarter of the show when he looks like the 18 year old ginger Adam and the spitting image of his dad (I assume this is not a spoiler given the curtain call videos that have been floating around -- if it is delete).
