I wonder who would be doing the PR for Cabaret - Adam's team regarding him only, or some Broadway PR company. I just happened to see the two leads for the new Romeo and Juliet play on the Today show. It seems to me they need to get Adam and Auli'i out there. All broadway productions have a PR firm. I am sure that it is listed in the Playbill (they usually are.) I suspect both Adam's team and the Cabaret team would be involved here (although adams team won't be in the playbill). The new Romeo & Juliet is just now in previews and is opening soon (or just opened). So those leads will be out promoting in the same way as the Cabaret leads would have been out promoting when it first opened. It is just always different when a show has been running for a year and there is a replacement cast. Never as much promo, although if Cabaret is to survive through March it needs more. There are a TON of eagerly awaited new productions opening this fall, both musicals and plays, with big stars. Some opened late summer, some are opening now, some are opening next month. It is a VERY crowded theater season. Lots of competition. Yes, I understand about the new shows. My point is I did not see Adam (except for Kelly) or Adam and Auli'i on any TV interview shows. They are on Playbill and Broadway.com virtually, but nothing on TV for Cabaret. If I missed it, please let me know as I would go back and try to find and see it. Meanwhile Eddie Redmayne was on Fallon after the announcement of his leaving for a pretty good interview.

I think they are pointing out the difference in promo for a NEW show as opposed to a replacement casting in an ongoing show. The promo is different.

I think they are pointing out the difference in promo for a NEW show as opposed to a replacement casting in an ongoing show. The promo is different. thanks...that was my point. Adam and Aulii did do the local NY1 broadway show....i think the interviews aired last weekend. As a general rule, broadway stars do not do as many tv interviews as would be done for a movie for example. That is because there is so little time -- they are performing 8 shows a week. They can't do anything on matinee days, and on evening only performance days they would have to squeeze someting in a few hours before curtain time. Maybe you do that once or twice -- but no one is going to risk a performance by doing that multiple times. They only have one day off. And the performers really need rest on those days. Sometimes the producers will have the cast perform a group number from the show on an off day. BUt that is usually only done for new productions. So even for new productions, the tv appearances happen, but are sparse compared to movie promo; and for replacement casts, even sparser. One thing people outside of the NYC area may not know (Not sure where anyone is from here) is that there are lots of TV commercials for broadway shows. I see commercials for Cabaret all the time.
