From the comments of this YT "I thought I was going to hate it. I didn't. I'm kinda glad they chose someone so flamboyant, 'cause that was Freddie." ETA: had to embed, this is just so great Actually, I was a bit impressed that a lot of the posts of apparent Queen fans were reasonable. If they refuse to go because of Adam singing, they are cutting off their nose to spite their face. Too bad for them, really.

Hmmm, 2:48 does not sound like any break in his voice at all, to me. But I am not expert! Sounds like he is belting it and hitting it! :-/ I am not an expert either but as an old time rocker what I hear at 2.48 is an amazing deliberate rock approach to the song , definitely not a break. Yah...from the not so musically informed. To me it was more authentic...just a rocker rockin it out. Who was it that said at the Grammies ( the rock group that won). Don't have to hit all the notes... coming from the heart is what this is all about. However, as Kelly Clarkson said to Taylor Swift's manager...American Idols hit not only the high notes.... but the right notes. If Adam rocks it like this I would not pay a spec of attention to any haters. He will hit many notes that will will put him up with the greats known for their rock wails etc. And it is okay to not sing like a broadway perfect show ...I like it pushing the rock style.

I am so envious happy for those of you that get the chance to go.

Ok guys...so I was listening to Ryan Seacrest this morning and he had an interview with Pharrell. It turns out the Pharrell just happens to be in charge of the Oscar music this year. Just sayin... I'll bite , wonder what the nominated songs are.....wait, no way, don't the songwriters and such always perform on their own behalf?

On the 29th, I plan to make a big donation to the Water Charity in memory of my mother. She is currently at "end of life," and close to the end. I have been holding back about going to Sonisphere. I want to go, I need to go. I will kick myself in the arse for not going. But I also need to be practical. I may just let it all go, and just do it. Mom would have approved !!!!!!!!!! smokeyvera my thoughts are with you and your mom.

"Oh.. I forgot to answer the question (yesterday or the day before yesterday?) re where Adam went so much out that his voice broke - it is at 2:48 in this recording ...unless you think he did that on purpose... your thoughts..." On purpose. Never even occurred to me otherwise in my 9 trillion listens to this. However, I am hardly a trained musician/vocalist, so I defer to those who are... Yeah, to me it was a stylistic choice! I liked it!
