Just thinking.... If the Sonisphere announcement was expected to be made a month earlier, that would have become public at the same time as the BTIKM official ads week was scheduled, right? The label/management could have thought the Queen news would push many stations to add the song. Could the delay have been one reason that this marketing "plan" has seemed so strange? Where do we learn that the sonisphere announcement was to be made a month earlier?? Anyway.. maybe the reason was RCA wants Adam's promotion out first before all the news about Adam & Queen.. see what happened after the Sonisphere announcement? It's been a week and we still see these articles every where.

Emily Makinzie here... Tune in till 5pm today to score tickets to see the prettiest man in American Idol history, ADAM LAMBERT, in the Mix Lounge... It's better than a concert. You don't want to miss this performance... First pair giveaway coming up within the hour...hahaha.. Emily is in for a surprise when she meet Adam in person.. she won't say "prettiest man" again.. which I think a bit condecending.. but whatever.. back to what I want to say.. I bet after meeting Adam in person she will say Adam is the most handsome and gorgeous man she ever laid her eyes on... ;D IDK, I don't find it condescending. I have called him pretty many times, also gorgeous, handsome, beautiful, stunning, breathtaking, adorable, cute, etc. He is pretty. To me, it really depends on the context of the photo. Pretty: Adorable: Smoking hot: Beautiful:

With all the back and forthing about "replacing" Freddie and who does it best I finally went back and looked at some Youtube vids - gotta say, Marc Martel creeped me out. I lasted about 30 seconds. First, if I wanted to see the original Queen, I would watch/listen to the originals. A person trying to clone Freddie just doesn't do it at all. I love a lot of Queen songs, always have. But if I can't have the original, then I want someone who loves the music, and sings for the love of it, and to have fun with it all at the same time. That honors the original instead of trying to recreate it. LOL.. that was me.. 30 second .. couldn't stand the guy.. plus of what he said about people that went to reality tv show like Idols.. well.. see where Adam's landed now..

I am so pleased that Adam finally had enough and addressed the "why are U gay" comment. It IS terribly insulting. I understand that the tweeters think they are complimenting Adam on his sexiness and desirability, but, as being gay is a part and parcel of his self, it IS rejecting him in a way. Can you imagine asking someone, "Why are you Jewish?" or "Why are you Hispanic?" implying that you would be much more attractive or acceptable except for that. : : : How many times can you excuse or overlook ignorance and rudeness before you have to call it out? Well done, Adam.

This..... Kris Allen Info @ KrisAllen_Info @tkradio AL needs to reign in his fans. Sorry you have to deal with all that crap. =( and Toby's response: toby knapp @ tkradio @krisallen_Info ... i'll ask Adam about that directly when I see him. And that will speak for itself -- and me. 1h toby knapp @ tkradio @krisallen_Info it's cool, not really bugged by it. i get the passion they have, it's just not cool to judge.... and.... Actually, there was an Adam "fan" who tweeted Toby first who they were both responding to: cassie uggybear@tkradio Why do you pretend to like Adam when it is soooo obvious that you prefer bland and boring ??? this person was also insulting another dj in the UK earlier. : toby responded: toby knapp @tkradio uggybear um don't judge me based on the music my station plays. that's kinda not cool. But thank you for your comment. uggybear oh and if I liked bland or boring, i wouldn't be on alternative, rock, pop and adult pop formats as a presenter. just sayin. and then the Kris fan jumped in and toby started tweeting with them I read toby's comment to the Kris fan as not defending Adam at all, but letting the Kris fan know he would ask Adam about the 'bad' behavior of some of Adam's 'fans' and that that would send a message.Toby is textbook passive-aggressive in my mind, and has no special affection for Adam. But that may just be me. I think he's best handled with kid gloves or avoided. MTE! Unless he has done a 180 in the last year the guy is bad news. And the original "Adam" fan deleted her tweet so might have even been a troll. BUT - moving on! Lottsa great stuff coming! i feel it in my bones. 8-)

Well done, Adam. Yes, excellent comparisons. When I see those comments, I think they are very often from young kids who don't know how to wrap their minds around being attracted to someone without nurturing the fantasy of wanting to be with them. And they know they can't so it's a conundrum. This is the same one-dimensional line of thinking that has kept gay leading men in the closet all these years. This is another reason why Adam is such a game-changer – that he is living proof a gay man CAN be a sex symbol for straight (and gay) women and it doesn't mean they think for a second they'll ever be with him.

ITA.. No.. If Danny, Kris or even Allison couldn't make Slash coming and mentor AI then I doubt that Brian would even wanted to check AI again. I agree with rihannsu.. IT HAD TO BE ADAM and also the fact that Led Zep had agreed to let Adam sing their song. And that's the first time they gave their approval. I think that Slash going on Idol because of Adam is a myth -- or at least it was never said publicly.Slash posted he was going to mentor Rock Week on April 27. 2009 -- two days before the Top 5 Rat Pack results show -- so he did not even know that Adam was going to make it to Rock Week. Slash wrote this about his decision to mentor on Idol: American Idol producers convinced reluctant rocker Slash to mentor contestants on the TV singing competition by handing over complete control of their upcoming rock-themed week.
The former Guns 'N' Roses star will advise the final four hopefuls on this week's Rock Week.
And Slash admits he was a skeptic even after other high-profile entertainers -- including filmmaker Quentin Tarantino and actor/singer Jamie Foxx -- served as mentors this season.
He writes on his MySpace blog: "I was reluctant at 1st, but they offered me the freedom to do it however I wanted. More importantly, there are a few singers this year who are really impressive. It's the 1st time any AI line-up has really caught my attention... Those AI kids can sing their a**es off." Link: www.chartattack.com/news/68947/slash-to-appear-on-american-idolNo specific mention of Adam until his May 4th Tweet -- over a week after he committed to be a mentor. 'American Idol': Rock Week mentor Slash digs Adam Lambert EW.com May 5, 2009 by Mandi Bierly
This week’s American Idol mentor, Slash, is already praising frontrunner Adam Lambert, via Twitter. The guitarist, who emphatically tweeted "I’m going to attempt to make ‘Rock Week’ on American Idol exactly that’ on April 29, has followed with other messages to his 14,677 followers: "The contestants from AI picked some really cool songs for next week, thank god!" on May 1, and "Those AI kids can sing their asses off, especially Adam" on May 2. We’ll see the fruits of Slash’s labor tonight, when American Idol‘s final four take the stage.Link: news-briefs.ew.com/2009/05/05/american-idol-a/But as far as I can tell he never said he want on the show because of Adam. At the time, if he had said this, it would have been a big deal and been added to the lists of complaints about the producers favoring Adam. Adam's run on Idol was spectacular. And he impressed a lot of people -- from Smokey to Slash to Queen. And Randy Travis will never forget him!! But some of the history is getting embellished at bit. Well.. Slash mentioned on the rock week that he took the mentor job because there's a couple of that year contestants, he just didn't mention who.. starting 2.5 He said on the interview that he asked his friends on Idol if he could come to check Adam out.
