Not sure how this works. My understanding was that it was popular vote, just no one knew who is was until they broadcast it on the finale. I guess they could have done the count back then, and then just held the info. Maybe? I think it's similar to Drag Race finale. They have pretaped the winning reaction for all competitors. On the day of The Voice finale they showed reaction only of one contestant that actually had win due to public voting. Yes, Adam said in one of his interviews that they taped the winner 4 ways. The vote this week was live and then they run the tape that matches the vote winner.
