www.reddit.com/r/Broadway/comments/1g33xej/cabaret_adam_lambert/?sort=newDuchy2000I’m not a crier but I found myself telling Adam he’d wrecked my eye make up singing I don’t care when I spoke to him after the show last week lol I’ve also seen the London production (with Layton) and whilst I enjoyed it it wasn’t anywhere near as good as Broadway. (Which was so good I went back the following night before returning to London) Reasons why ? It’s the same director but the audience was different , I met people at the Broadway show who literally had no idea “what was coming next” for Germany and the rest of Europe and found myself even giving a history lesson after the show to the forty something American who came with me to see it .She now wants to see it again with her greater understanding . I heard Adam enquire at the stage door after to audience members more than once “Did you learn something?” In a nice way (his mother is of Eastern European Jewish heritage so presumably he grew up as I did with a knowledge of how his own family history was affected by the Nazis) . Was his interpretation of the role impacted by that ? Almost certainly . Each Emcee seems to be given a lot of freedom to bring their own interpretation with this production . Eddie Redmaine attended the week I was there and he described Lambert’s performance the following day on TV as “Magnificent” even though their interpretations were vastly different. Intelligent-Tie-4466I just got home from watching him tonight. I can say you are totally right. He is perfect in this show, and I say that as someone who really wasn't familiar with him at all. His singing of Tomorrow was incredible. I got chills throughout his whole performance of the song, which only ever rarely happens for me. That song alone is worth seeing the show for, but in general the whole show was amazing, especially the in the round staging. Actually, it is worth seeing for the in the round staging, even if he wasn't in the show, but with him, absolutely one of the best Broadway shows i have ever seen. If you reading this and are on the fence about seeing it, jump off and get a ticket.

This may be a spoiler, but it is a question for anyone who has seen the show with Adam. I have just seen Cabaret and, of course, was blown away, like everyone else by the show and his performance. He really does take over the stage....but my quesiton. I don't believe the ending to THIS Cabaret with the emcee revealing himself happened. Did I miss something?

As an Adam fan from Day One, I am always amused at people who saw him on Idol but chose not to follow him afterward. Boggles my mind. He made such an impact on that show that changed it forever. I can't imagine not following him after Idol. BTW, I know he has discussed the subject of him being a gay contestant on Idol. But I don't recall him saying that he lost for that particular reason. Maybe I just missed it.
Loving all the accolades from Cabaret-goers. Esp. from those who are just discovering Adam.

Cabaret has had 3 different endings over the years, depending on the director’s vision. So if you’re comparing the ending to the original production or the 1990s Sam Mendez production, this current Cabaret also has a different ending.
