Not a fan of NAL at all. I've never bought a thing he's put out. But I will give him credit, he's got a REALLY current sounding song, imo, for either HAC or CHR. And I'm fine with all of that  I just want Adam taken care of by the label. I'm cool with a HAC hit (or moderate hit) in BTIKM. But then RCA has to finally let a "big one" drop. I don't care if it's a risk. Get a smash song out there that CHR will support and work it like Interscope seems to be doing for its artists. |

Adam has been #28 on sunday on the HAC chart with monitored station only, but has been #27 on the HAC chart with all stations. There he is ahead of Nickelback. So Idolnow could have referred to this chart. Hmmm... that's possible. The all stations chart is not official, so I usually don't pay any attention to it. On that chart he is now #28 and did pass Nickleback. But it does not count. If they are talking about the Billboard Adult Pop Songs Chart they use a different station panel than Mediabase so their positions are sometimes slightly different. You can look up on Billboard under Adam's chart history and this week BTIKM is #27 on the Adult Pop Songs Chart which is Billboard's HAC chart. ETA: BTIKM is also currently #9 on the Billboard Japan Hot 100 chart |

I just listened to Kris' new single---and not the dance remix that surfaced by the way--but the actual single single and there is nothing remotely current about it for CHR radio. There is NO WAY that song could compete in the CHR landscape of Riri and Katy and LMFAO and all the other power players. Hell it can't even compete with Bruno Mars stuff. If anything that song is MORE HAC then BTIKM. And the production is cheap as hell. Wow! Kinda harsh. And, just so you know, I listen to CHR every day. So I think I do get pop music. NAL has a very current sounding song, IMO, in the Script vein. He sounds JUST like the Script ( and I'm not a script fan either) but they have a sound that radio is very accepting of right now. While I am not a fan, I think Kris has a very marketable song.
And I can't believe I just wasted time talking about an artist I don't even care for, but I really wasn't expecting to have to defend myself here. I'm kinda pissed.
Eta---for the record, the remix is cringeworthy;it's like something a fan would put together in his basement

Bless his little heart. Ugh, Chunkey, hating you right now :( I was avoiding listening to this song. And I like it, and I've pretty much hated everything Kris since his album drop... But it is a little catchy I guess, maybe because it reminds me of that song She Will Be Loved. It is more HAC then BTIKM, but it has that hummable, in the background sound to it. So it could be a hit as it's very The Scrip like. So good for Kris. |

And frankly what is heard on various CHR and HAC stations varies by market. Chicago is different from DC is different from LA etc etc etc. Please be considerate.
