I thought this was interesting, from that Billboard article. We have known that their charts, like Hot 100 etc, do not just come from sales figures or radio play alone. I think this gives us some insight into their formula and shows that watching the videos AND streaming, are VERY important!!
This "Idol" Top 24 list is based on chart performance on the Billboard 200 and Hot 100 charts (through the Jan 21 issue date), using a weighted formula equally blending album sales (according to Nielsen SoundScan) with points generated by the radio airplay, track download sales and streaming plays that make up the Hot 100.

I think we are starting to see the effects of cumulative exposure like repeated press, the video on Jump Start every morning and radio play. The iTunes numbers are still bouncing but have started to slowly climb. I think we are definitely seeing new fans checking him out because both WWFM and IIHY are seeing comparable sales upticks usually slightly behind the bumps for BTIKM and this has been consistent since the song has been out.

So happy to see i-Tunes not having those big drops anymore. I asked saga yesterday about Ellie Goulding being reinstated back on the mediabase chart and she says she thnks her label paid mediabase to do that because they are trying to push her to CHR. Guess who her label is?! Interscope! Man they are really willing to promote and put out the $ for their artists! |

This was mentioned in the main thread and I got the email too. On the weekend of March 17 American Top 40 will play BTIKM during their Hot AC version. So hopefully we can build up a lot of spins in the next 2 1/2 weeks.

I have a question. IdolNow said that Adam moved from 32 to 27 on Adult Pop. But he's 29 on the chart, so where are they getting this number from?
