I see rabbit posted the same thing about that VH1 link.
Just took a peek at the Charity donations - nearly 7 pages of Leap Day donations!!! Whoever came up with this idea initially (was it murly?) gets a standing O from me. And I admit to being wrong about people having donation burnout. It's a beautiful thing!

Whoever came up with this idea initially (was it murly?) gets a standing O from me. And I admit to being wrong about people having donation burnout. It's a beautiful thing! This is already a great success and it isn't even noon Central time yet! There is a psychology of giving ... I think people did/do have donation burnout, but this campaign hit on the personal touch and sense of community that was needed, and the sense of watching a story unfold. When the cycle of giving can be completed like that, it's a beautiful thing to watch!  |

I see rabbit posted the same thing about that VH1 link. Just took a peek at the Charity donations - nearly 7 pages of Leap Day donations!!! Let's keep banging the drum all day! We are a little less than 200 leap donations, correct? And we have 1,000+ to get matched right? We need to use that as an incentive. Posting milestones here and on twitter is very helpful and getting people to donate again or to spread the news. That's what worked well during the last birthday. I can't be on, but if someone regularly posted the CW amount here and on twitter, and the the number of matches toward 1000, that might keep up the momentum. just for example: " CW total 56,000 188 leap donations made! " or whatever (I don't know the correct numbers). |
