5) Zeldo posts over on AO, is regular there. And RequestAdam was started there too, I believe – turned out great too. Lots of good stuff happening in spite of the lousy site design and other challenges that folks here comment on, on occasion. Lots of great participation today from there, too. is run by a small group of people on my twitter feed I think (though embarrassingly, I'm not completely sure who). They may have been on AO a very very long time ago, but don't seem to be there now (there is another group, AdamStorm, that might be who you are thinking of? They are AO refugees I'm pretty sure). The requesting thread on AO has a very different philosophy (doesn't stay local, for example). Whoever the RequestAdam group is, they are very on top of radio spins, promo, and requesting info and their site is a godsend IMHO, always up to date, full of good information, and clearly prioritized. You can also follow them on twitter for voting reminders @requestadam or @requestadamintl for international peeps. |

As to the BFM settlement.... I wanted Adam to fight this tooth and nail, on principle, but I have to admit logically it is better to close this chapter and walk away. I am hoping that the settlement may mean that BFM can stay, but nothing further will be released.
And, since the CD has already been out for three months, what point would be made by having it withdrawn now? Closing the barn door after the horse has fled. BFM has done what it could possibly do, which isn't much ---even with the sleazy timing and deceptive promotion and with the publicity from the law suit. I don't know much about the biz, but I cannot imagine they have yet made a profit considering the $$ they spent for PR, product placement and legal fees. Currently on Amazon, the CD is at #10,381 in music, the mp3 version is at 34,795 in mp3 albums and the deluxe CD is at #151,719 in music.
In contrast, the Trespassing deluxe CD is at #105 in music, even without a release date. Even FYE, GNT and Acoustic Live are doing better than BFM. It seems no one is fooled and no one is interested.
Adam Lambert + Queen, now there is something to look forward to!

1st chance to log in today. Just went to charity water and donated what I could - split it into two parts because it appeared, from a quick read of the thread, that it would be better for matching funds that way. Don't really understand the logistics of the whole thing but kudos to those organizing and following through on the campaign. Very exciting! And it's been a very exciting week!

ATop rules! Do you realize that having been the impetus for over $10,000 means that ATop is responsible for over 10% of the goal Adam set? That is amazing! Be more amazed because we are at... $11,326 donated 441 donations plus we have enough matching pledges to do a second day and over $3,000 pledged I think we can hit $70K and we are getting a lot new people involved. |
