Hi, all. Per ususal, I've been lurking daily, but almost always in catch-up mode. I have a question - sorry if it's a dumb one. Adam isn't doing live radio promo here, so I am not clear on how it works. This much I know: the stations offer a very small audience the opportunity to hear Adam live and the DJ's or the audience ask him some questions - hopefully the album is mentioned. LOL. Then he sings 2 or 3 songs live. A couple of times, he's actually done a mini-concert at a non-studio location at night, but the tickets still have to be awarded by the radio station (I think). The main question is: How exactly is this style radio promotion helping Adam (or any other artist doing the same thing)? My thoughts and more questions: - I'm sure the ticket contests are done on-air, live and bring attention to Adam.
- How often are the interviews and/or performances live on-air or are they usually just posted to the radio web site?
- I assume he's making points with the DJ's and hopefully (more importantly) with the program directors.
- Seems like it provides radio stations with good promotion, that would benefit Adam through the good will aspect.
I'm not concern trolling AT ALL. I'm impressed with this promo tour. I just love what I've been learning about the music industry since I've become an obsessed Adam junkie and wanted some insight from those of you more knowledable. :D

This is an odd comparison but might go to explaining the grueling radio promo...
here goes:
I went to see the Justin Bieber movie last year (shhhhh) and part of the documentary talked about how when Justin first came on the scene no radio stations wanted to play him so his management put him on the road and he literally visted every radio station he could. He sang for them, he talked to them, he made an impression on them. It worked because the more radio promo he did the bigger he got.
I'm hopeful that this is the strategy at work for Adam. Get him out there across the country and on radio stations talking and playing his music live and build on his already devoted fanbase.
