It's just an intellectual exercise to separate Adam's various qualities out and think about how those are perceived. Sorry didn't think it was such a traumatic suggestion. Seriously??? Pop is all about the SONG???? LOL forgive me but present a coherent argument for the existence of the charts of that piece of absolute dreck entitled "Best Fucking Song Ever" by Wallpaper. Go on, I'm waiting. It is all about the song in Pop. It's the beat, the fun message or angsty I don't give "fuck" message, or sex message, or the sing along ability. I didn't say the songs had great lyrics or are all destined to be Grammy noms. No, actually often just the opposite. That's why many good songs struggle and never make it, but songs like "I''m Sexy and I Know It" do. It's why some of the better songs, have to get into Pop via HAC. If you look at the Top 20 songs on i-Tunes Pop right now, I'd say 11 of them are "party" songs. Ignore the lyrics as I'm actually not talking about the lyrics in this case. I found the music of that song quite the most horrible thing about it. I thought the music of Rebecca Black's Friday song was quite catchy. I am curious as to what musically is appealing about this Wallpaper song? I am quite serious. I have no problem seeing the appeal of many of the songs that are routinely criticized but this one totally stumps me. I happen to actually like LMFAO's song just can't stand the visual accompaniment. EEEWWWW!

But taking away Adam's voice is such an abstract concept for me, I can't even think of a logical way to discuss that. I mean, he is a singer and that's what he does. If he didn't sing this well, he wouldn't be doing this in the first place. I don't even know what to say? :-/ Besides that Pop is all about the song. Go on, I'm waiting. wait... so... it is not about the voice... and now it is not about the song? ... What is it about then? What else is left on the radio? The boobs and the asses and the crazy outfits do not come thru on the radio so well... I defer to anyone here as I know nothing about radio, but I am stuck logically .... and ya... TP and Cuckoo are both way better than the TikTok nonsense...(not to mention Kesha's horrendous delivery...)

[snicker] Tik Tok was catchy enough that an entire group of 4-year old nursery schoolers know the chorus and sing it at the top of their lungs while stamping out Play-Doh. #youmayallfeelsorryformenow......

LOL! I love Tik Tok! That and Your Love is My drug are my favborites of her. Catchy as hell! Nica, obviously, Rihannsu and I do not agree, because as I've said it IS about the song in Pop! It has to be catchy as hell, unless it is from someone that radio plays no matter what they come out with (Gaga) or it is crossover from another genre. Of course, it is subjective too. Because I like KESAH's songs, love me some Katy Pery, but hate that song by FUN that is skyrocketing to the top of everything! It is like nails on a chalkboard to me. Sounds like a song I'd hear at Disneyland on one of the outdoor stages (except for the 'carry me home when I get drunk' part of the lyrics!) LOL!

Laughing stock? No, he just needs that one, great Pop song to break him out and have everyone (even KISS LA) sit up and take notice. WWFM was a great song and had successful sales, but I wouldn't call it a breakout Pop song. I'm talking something like Tik Tok was for KESHA. Do not bombard me with posts about not wanting Adam to sing KESHA type songs. That's not what I mean. I am talking about a Pop song that hits as fast and hard as a song like Tik Tok. A song that is so good, so unique, so amazeballs every station has to play it so much that even we get sick of hearing it! I think you missed my point. If he did not have the VOICE, if he couldn't sing worth shit, then I could see all these perception problems he has making him a laughingstock. I don't think Adam as he is will ever be a laughingstock. But think about it, take away that incredible vocal instrument of his and that incredible personal charm and you have something more along the lines of Sanjaya. Adam's incredible talent and his sweet charming nature are what will win the battle but look at it the other way too, the voice and the sweet nature without all the OTT theatricality and you've got Michael Buble or Josh Groban. would we even be here talking about him if he didn't have the voice he has?

Still seriously waiting for an idea of what musically is appealing about that Wallpaper song. I'm really not kidding. It is probably the worst thing I've heard musically in pop radio since I started listening again in the last three years. I am truly truly curious as to what supports that song. I UNDERSTAND the appeal of all those other songs you are mentioning, I am SERIOUSLY asking about this one. Trying to learn, here.

I was thinking VH1, MuchMusic Top 20, newmusiclive Top 5, i.e. the things we vote for. It's nice to see the feedback that it helps. ^^ Did you see the VH1 numbers I posted above a few posts? ^^ Yes, thanks. I'm hoping for the Canada numbers as well, I think someone was posting them on the main thread.

The beat is fun and it's a song that young people can dance and sing along to when they are drunk.
