I think you missed my point. If he did not have the VOICE, if he couldn't sing worth shit, then I could see all these perception problems he has making him a laughingstock. I don't think Adam as he is will ever be a laughingstock. But think about it, take away that incredible vocal instrument of his and that incredible personal charm and you have something more along the lines of Sanjaya. Adam's incredible talent and his sweet charming nature are what will win the battle but look at it the other way too, the voice and the sweet nature without all the OTT theatricality and you've got Michael Buble or Josh Groban. would we even be here talking about him if he didn't have the voice he has? I don't think so, because I think if he would not have been that talented, he wouldn't even have made it to the televised auditions on AI. And even if, I probably wouldn't be here, because it was his voice I initially fell in love with.

Vote for the Worst loved him!

LOL! I love Tik Tok! That and Your Love is My drug are my favborites of her. Catchy as hell! N ica, obviously, Rihannsu and I do not agree, because as I've said it IS about the song in Pop! It has to be catchy as hell, unless it is from someone that radio plays no matter what they come out with (Gaga) or it is crossover from another genre. Of course, it is subjective too. Because I like KESAH's songs, love me some Katy Pery, but hate that song by FUN that is skyrocketing to the top of everything! It is like nails on a chalkboard to me. Sounds like a song I'd hear at Disneyland on one of the outdoor stages (except for the 'carry me home when I get drunk' part of the lyrics!) LOL! Still seriously waiting for an idea of what musically is appealing about that Wallpaper song. I'm really not kidding. It is probably the worst thing I've heard musically in pop radio since I started listening again in the last three years. I am truly truly curious as to what supports that song. I UNDERSTAND the appeal of all those other songs you are mentioning, I am SERIOUSLY asking about this one. Trying to learn, here. Haha. I so agree with your puzzlement on the Wallpaper song. There are many songs on Pop that I don't like but I admit they're catchy. But this one? I looked at the YT comments & people were saying stuff like "I fell in love with this song first time I heard it." And I'm absolutely flabbergasted. I understand fun & catchy but seriously it HAS to take more than a good beat to be a smash doesn't it? I mean, anyone can come up with a beat! And this song doesn't even have a great beat imo. So - WTAF???

We are so far from the point I was trying to make I don't even know WHERE we are anymore. Obviously I am somehow not speaking an understandable language today. I've confused myself at this point. Shutting up now.

I would be great if we could get the positions of the BTIKM vid in US and Canadian countdown shows posted here too. Anyone been tracking them? If not, I'll dig around. I has been trying to track the various Canadian MV charts for a few weeks. Last Friday I posted that BTIKM was #15 (up from #18) on the weekly Top30 MuchMore countdown, but it is not on the MuchMusic weekly Top30. He has been consistently #1 or #2 on the daily MuchMore Top20. I can summarize all my posts later tonight and post the history for the MuchMore charts.

Really appreciate it ETA: it looks like Adam might possibly be no. 1 on this: www.newmusiclive.ca/playlists/#TheTop5 (the side bar numbers where he is #15 haven't changed in over a week as far as I've noticed????) Here: www.muchmore.ca/mmtop20/ he's number 14 on the playlist, but again I don't know if that's a countdown number or randomly assigned? That's why it's so helpful to hear from you, someone actually watching the shows.

Just chiming in with my 2c. I am one of those people who fell in love with the fun. song the first time they heard it. Actually, it was the second time. First time I heard the Glee cover and I was SERIOUSLY intrigued. Second time I heard it during the car commercial it is used for and I liked it so much that I was instantly pushed to look it up, which I rarely do for a song I just heard once or twice. Why do I like it? Beats me, it's hard to explain, but I can try. There's something very fresh about it, it's like 4 different songs into one, blending seamlessly. I love the power sing-a-long chorus that hits out of nowhere, while the song starts almost like an Elton John piano song. It's just a cool song. What's interesting is that my husband had the exact same reaction when I played it for him and now we're even considering going to see fun. in concert. I agree with some previous posters who said that we mustn't confuse the problems the song BTIKM is having with the discrimination Adam might be facing from PDs. Sure, I'm sure there's some uneasiness from SOME PDs, but to say that BTIKM is not doing well only or mostly because of that is short sighted IMHO, and does not do Adam any justice. It's like parenting, usually your kid does everything right in your eyes, but you need to acknowledge when they are less than perfect, otherwise you are just blind. BTIKM is just not that good of a song. It pains me to admit it, it does. I want Adam to have smash hits. And I think it is a perfectly ok song to go Top 15 or Top 10 on HAC, for instance. But not on pop. Sure, there are some songs that do very well on pop that are not that catchy, but they are the exception rather than the rule. BTIKM cannot compare to some of the recent pop smashes like Kelly's Stronger, KP's Part of me, even The Wanted song, etc. These are just unbelievably catchy songs. My husband heard KP's Part of me once during the Grammys and now he's like obsessed with that song. That, and Kelly's Dark side, which, in my and my DH's opinion will smash like there is no tomorrow. The hook on that song is SICK. Just my opinion. Looking forward to Adam's next single. Naked Love has a lot of potential I think from what we've heard. Of course, we haven't heard the chorus, which is key, but I have hope. ETA: Oh, and I forgot to say, I think the BTIKM video is really really cool and elevated the song, which is what a good video should do.
