Hm, just to add a different perspective to things, I understand why the label didn't immediately go with Trespassing or Cuckoo. Leaving out our fan flailing and trying to think objectively, they are both risky for Top 40 radio. Cuckoo, as I said in an earlier post, has this disco Scissor Sisters vibe that is not really played at radio in the US right now. And Trespassing is really different. My husband says it sounds "dated" every time he hears it. Now, I don't agree with him, but I see what he means. Naked Love and NCOE are much more Top 40 radio right now, IMO. Which is EXACTLY the reason why they also sound more generic to us as fans. But generic might not necessarily mean a bad thing when you're trying to win over radio. Who knows ultimately. I think the label sees Adam as a wild card. With immense potential, but a wild card. And it's a real unknown at this point whether he's going to be embraced by mainstream radio with this dance sound; I think they're afraid. You're probably right... but they can take their fear and stick it where the sun don't shine. >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(

Well, seoulmate, I think in this case their fear is justified.
Sure, we all hope that everything works out and Adam gets huge. But what if he doesn't? Then everyone will blame the choices the label made. And the label would not get their return on investment, either, so they are also incentivized for this album to do well.

JMO but I think they've already gone the safe route already with BTIKM. I think they need to let Adam be Adam at this point if they truly want him to be a breakout star. It has to happen at some point or he will end up singing WWFM and it's cousins ad infinitum.

Playing it safe gave us BTIKM, which I love, but it's not the right fit for this album, for Adam right now! Top 40 is ready for Adam, IMO! The songs out right now are CRAZY!!!!!!! Free Adam's music!!!

I love them all but for some weird reason NCOE resonates with me the best right now hmmm... Me too. I wonder how much more fans would love NCOE if they thought Adam wrote it. heh. ;D For me, I don't care who wrote what. I just want him to have *BIG HITS* off of Trespassing. 8-) Personally I've never been on the team of "Artist must write their own". I don't care who writes him a hit song... all I can say is that NCOE is my least favorite song. Something about the melody that I don't care for.

I have no idea how anyone can choose. They are all good. Favorite is Cuckoo, with Naked Love close 2nd. I think Trespassing should be the third single.....keeping the album moving. That aside Never Close our Eyes is the Bruno Mars song and would bring another fan group. I still would prefer an Adam co-write!
