I guess I need to explain myself. I love every song that Adam sings. Some just more than others. I hear BM in NOCE. I want success for Adam, more than anything, and I feel putting out 2 ballads, one just a little faster than the other is not showcasing Adam. I want his song to go to No.1 and gain lots more fans. Putting out a second ballad as a single, to me is not the best. I know we don't know what that second single is, but the album delay for that one song, makes it awfully suspicious. JMMHO. I really thought I could be talked off the ledge without a lot of judgement. Well I guessed wrong. Shame on me !!!!!!!!!!!!!! BTIKM wasn't really a ballad. If it was, it was close to mid-tempo and had a Dr. Luke Pop production behind it. The tempo is fairly close to WWFM. NCOE is in no way a ballad. In fact, other than the verse part of TP, it has the fastest rpms out of all of the four choices for the next single. I saw someone say it was a ballad on TWoP and I did a double take then too The vocals on NCOE are in the best tradition of 90s trance/house music - in the same vein as Dr Luke's production on it - but 99% of the time then it was female singers. And they used to do exactly the same thing as on NCOE - long, sustained phrases.

I seldom state which my fav song of Adams is because I think I might be broken. From FYE era I fav Loaded Smile, Voodoo and Down the Rabbit Hole AND FEVER, unless it was being sung live and then anything would do. This time, so far, Trespassing is my one and only favorite, again the caveat if it is sung life the phone book will do. So I just don’t worry and am happy with whatever Adam decides to do. Most of the decisions I see work out in the end and hind sight gives a different perspective on what would have been a better choice or not. After the EMA debacle and the cockroach on his back WITH a ninja roll, who would have predicted a worldwide sold out tour and QUEEN!! So... I just do what you guys tell me to do and vote my big ass off (hopefully)

There are many amazing songs that never make it to the number one spot. A top 10 or 15 CHR song is a great achievement and goes a long way as far as recognition from the Pop world goes. I'm just hoping for that- anything above that will be the cherry on top! :D BTIKM is 84 bpm - puts in the ballad category. WWFM depending on the variation was 94-100 bpm putting it at mid tempo. haven't checked NCOE, but it comes across as a ballad. Dance music is at least 132 bpm.

Someone (I think Q3) already posted the bpm for NCOE and while I don't remember the exact number it was over 132 bpm. The vocal line may sound slow because of the drawn out phrasing but the beat of the song is fast and that's what counts for dance music. It's a tricky thing. NCOE sounds slower if you are focusing on only the vocal line but if you are listening to the back beat it is pretty fast.

Dance music for sure! 84 rpm is not always considered to be a ballad. Q3 and I discussed this recently. It depends on whose definition you go by and what the beat and production is behind the music. It is borderline. Like I said previously, it is a ballad that leans very closely to a mid-tempo song. There is no way that NCOE could be categorized as a ballad.
