Remember, Adam is kinda new at serious relationships so he honestly didn't know how it would be with the occasional celibacy that comes with commitment. And with the challenges of the upcoming tour they both have a lot to think about. I think his comments show honesty. My guess is he is not afraid to talk about it --or have Sauli hear it-- because they are open with each other about everything. It would be more concerning if they didn't discuss it. Commitment only means not acting on temptation, so this is one step better-er.
