I was just voting, and here's another reason I think the display of votes is manipulated in a way that makes it look as if one artist is suddenly getting many more votes than the other: Adam's percentage dropped with every vote I put in. At this point, there should be so many votes for both artists that changing the percentage would require thousands of extra votes. The more total votes in the contest, the harder it is to change the percentage. Yet these numbers are changing by the second.
I still say the contest is set up in a way that each artist's votes are not necessarily displayed as they come in. One side is withheld until the other catches up and surpasses it; that way, the competition looks more fierce than it really is and fans are encouraged to keep voting.
