The new single should be NCOE or Cuckoo both of these are just stuck in my head and won't go away. It's actually starting to drive me crazy and I think I need a break from them. I think this new album is going to be soo amazing don't remember any song on FYE so implanted in my head. May I politely beg to differ! I really love TRESPASSING. I think it is different, infectious, fun, and has a message which 90% of the listening public will not hear or understand but still, I love it. That being said, I don't think it will be the next single, and I shall whine until it IS a single. Love it too and for some reason it reminds me of Rollin in the Deep. I think it is the bass and the clapping. I wish RCA, for once, would think outside the box. If you look at the Top 30 right now on CHR there are so many songs that people would say "don't fit" and are not typical sure fire hits. IMO, the timing couldn't be more perfect for Cuckoo or Trespassing! I love NCOE too. Don't get me wrong! I love all 4 songs. Just would like to see a song that is more typical of Adam's on stage personality. Would love for RCA to let him Trespass!

Wanted to post it here, it's not OT - just watch the beginning, totally appropriate in the light of the thread title The result of my super lazy morning, first in month. I send the little one with mom to the country house for weekend and was longing around waiting for the specialist to revive my computer, so I decided to watch something old and favourite and put on "Singing in the rain". Oh my god, I realized I can't watch anything not thinking of Adam : I giggled myself out listening to the opening dialog - it just wouldn't play out nowadays, the Internet would be flooded with the actual pictures or vids the next minute. And then I imagined Adam singing the rock or disco or original versions of all songs - it would be amazing :D ;D

I really love all four tracks so will be happy whichever they pick. Here's my take in brief. Personally taste -- TRESPASSING > CUCKOO > NAKED LOVE > NCOE. Commercial radio -- Cuckoo is begging to be on the radio. It WILL be a hit if there is any justice in the universe. RCA safe pick -- NCOE seems to be where they are headed. And since the track was just finished -- the clip we heard can't be the finished track. So maybe it is killer. Adam said it is down to two songs. I think that is Cuckoo vs. NCOE cause we know that UK wanted Cuckoo. And, since there are 4 really good choices, I hope RCA picks one Adam wrote. The $$s are nice, but seeing Adam recognized as a songwriter would be betterer.

It would have been a good single to start out with and take a chance on. Now, they really have to go with a song that fits inside the box. If single #2 doesn't go anywhere, (on CHR and the top 5 on HAC) the chances of a third single are pretty slim. My hope isn't for a song that fits Adam's personality or makes him a little short term $, I want a song that gets significant play on CHR. I will be happy with ANY song that does that! That will mean we will get a third single and video which helps keep the album in the top 200, which could mean a fourth single and video! This next choice is pretty important, they need to make it wisely. mys*&@^#r: Sorry! We agree on Trespassing then! BTW, what can we shorten Trespassing to? TP?

OT: I went to Barnes and Noble yesterday to finally get the correct RS issue with Adam's Trespassing in it for new music coming out. I bought another magazine called UNCUT which caught my eye because Bowie (Ziggy Stardust Era) was on the cover with a amazing article of his 40 Years in music and how he changed "his world....and ours". There are some other really interesting articles in it...WHERE ROCK'N'ROLL WAS BORN and great archives articles and pics. Lots more stuff. I am really enjoying the issue. I think it's a UK publication. It had a CD attached to it on the front of the mag with some new...interesting music. It's their April 2012 issue if your interested.

I'm trying to remember what mini-concert it was, maybe Austria, where I wished Adam had a few more upbeat songs to perform to get the audience going. I love his voice, love BTIKM but think he should have more things like TRESP and CUCKOO in his arsenal to grab attention. People out partying can be shallow.
I only worry about hit songs in reference to him making money, keeping the house he seems to love so much, feeling like his career is moving in the direction HE wants it to, and never putting his record contract in jeopardy. Other than that I think Adam is respected, gaining fans in the hierarchy of the music industry, and will always be able to support himself as an artist. Sometimes it's very hard for me to accept the angst about what is or is not happening or what RCA is or is not doing because I am so much a positive person that that the anxiety it causes me is almost physical.
Whine, whine, whine, that's me today. But I hope you understand my point that it is Adam's happiness and satisfaction I care about much more than our bragging rights - which I fall victim to, also.

I've never thought Trespassing too "out of the box" for Top 40 radio. There are several songs topping the charts which don't seem to conform any set formula. I sent that "Shit Adam Stans Say" clip to my daughter in college and she TOTALLY spazed out over the Trespassing bit - "I had to google it to hear it again!!! Great song!!" (This from a die-hard hip/hop, urban station listener). My personal preference is TRESPASSING>NCOE>CUCKOO>NAKED LOVE....but whatever order the label decides to release singles, I'm be waiting patiently (not) for my fav.
