I do not expect any adds for today. Pop is done. Agree! The way it's been pulled off of polls and request forms reminds me of when WWFM came out.

Adam is #25 on Rick Dees www.rick.com/show/hot-adult-03-31-2012All the songs above him I've heard heaps on the radio and BTIKM has never been played in NC. Yes there are whole states of the U.S. that have never heard BTIKM so considering its lack of radio play the song has done remarkably well.

This is the thing that makes me think RCA did not support this song at all. Entire areas of the country have never heard it (like New York!) So how can anyone say radio listeners didn't like it? Most never heard it!

In terms of 'legal' payola they might possibly have saved some of that for the second single, which makes sense to me.

The Pop stations that knew they weren't going to play BTIKM, at least have some pay it forward type promo in place. The next single, if it is good, should have an easier time right away on HAC and should be looking at some early adds. The new single has to be Pop radio friendly, though. If it's not- all bets are off. CHR radio will not add it or spin it if they don't feel it is a good match for the listeners in their area. IMO, any of the four songs sound Pop friendly. Also IMO, a couple of the four choices could have "problems" with the PD Hicks and only one of the choices says Pop/HAC right off the bat. We'll see! Hopefully, Adam has built up a ton of good will from these radio stations!

I agree there has been great radio promo the last month but that appears to be for single #2. And I'm very happy about that. That didn't happen for BTIKM. It dropped & then ***crickets***. That's water over the bridge now but I was responding to adamuse. There are many areas of the country where it's not even known that he has a single released. I'm sure that will change with single#2 now that he finally got radio promo.

Jazzrocks: RCA dropped the debut single in the middle of the worst three weeks of the year to do any kind of promo! Adam did Leno and Ellen, but then went to do promo in Europe. This exact promo pattern is what Kelly did and it worked for her. I don't think RCA was expecting the total rejection of BTIKM from most Pop stations and the overall disinterest from Europe. There is usually a period of a month or so before they start doing radio promo. It was just complicated by the fact that BTIKM wasn't CHR friendly and they had those three weeks of deep Christmas freeze to deal with. We should be looking at a much better situation this time around.

I was reading a rumor in the Sonisphere forums, that ties in with a rumor by a poster here, that the Sonisphere announcement was supposed to come in December, but that Kiss changed their tour plans and the public announcement got put on hold while Sonisphere tried to find another headliner/get Kiss back. This might tie in with that LA promo day Adam had in December (?) and Shoshanna asking the Times to move forward their article about Adam and Queen. Anyway I think that if true, this might have been part of reason for dropping the single in December, but then Sonisphere didn't cooperate with their announcement.
