Aftermath isn't a song that can be messed up IMO. It's not raunchy or risque and certainly not the most vocally challenging song he sings. I think he'll turn out a heartfelt beautiful performance and he'll only further confirm why he's the success he is. Actually, Aftermath is a tricky little song. It sounds simpler than it is. The beginning verses go down to a C#3, which is right at the bottom of his range. That makes it difficult to sing with resonance and power. The top notes are C#5, two octaves above. The Star Spangled Banner, Bruno Mars' Just the Way You Are, and Buble's Just Haven't Met You Yet are all an octave and a half range. Aftermath also bounces back and forth from low to high in quick succession. From chest to head and back. It also has rather long phrasing, and fast words, which Adam always articulates very clearly. All this is certainly within Adam's bag of tricks, and he makes it sound easy and effortless. I have no nerves about whether he will perform it well. Haven't heard him bobble it once in the 100+ live shows. But, just saying, his simple song ain't. |

For a song that isn't going to radio, it sure is getting a lot of radio poromo! ;D So do you think there's a chance for Aftermath to be a hit or something if the radio starts playing it?? (dreams big) If we see a tweet from Z100......... maybe! |
