Quick note 'cause I'm at work. I listen to KISS in LA on my way to work. His guests are usually on after 7AM. Most of the time I hear a good part of the interview before getting to work at 7:30 or 7:40. Today I heard Selena and her new single (before I switched the station LOL). In the past, that's the time frame that Adam has been on.

Actually, Aftermath is a tricky little song. It sounds simpler than it is. The beginning verses go down to a C#3, which is right at the bottom of his range. That makes it difficult to sing with resonance and power. The top notes are C#5, two octaves above. The Star Spangled Banner, Bruno Mars' Just the Way You Are, and Buble's Just Haven't Met You Yet are all an octave and a half range. Aftermath also bounces back and forth from low to high in quick succession. From chest to head and back. It also has rather long phrasing, and fast words, which Adam always articulates very clearly. All this is certainly within Adam's bag of tricks, and he makes it sound easy and effortless. I have no nerves about whether he will perform it well. Haven't heard him bobble it once in the 100+ live shows. But, just saying, his simple song ain't. I'm almost afraid to say this...but I don't like the first part which is sung very low. Adam's tone isn't pleasing to me.... also...the lyrics "anytime anybody blah, blah......anytime anybody blah, blah" must be difficult to spit out without tripping over the words. That said...he does a fabulous job with it and I'm excited to hear the remix. I understand what you are saying, esp. re: the first part of the song. Do we know if during GNT he lowered the key from the album version ( cassie??). If so, maybe he'll raise it a little? Just rambling here. But I'm confident however he changes it up, it will be unbelievable and people will be blown away - once again - not only by the voice but by the presentation of the performance. It's all good.
