It's funny - I don't get nervous anymore when he's on TV. Leno, Ellen, The Talk, etc....just super excited! But for some reason I'm nervous about the Idol performance. WHY?? I don't wanna be nervous! I feel the same way, JazzRocks, maybe because it's American Idol. Dunno, I just want him to do well and get good reception.

Last night, when someone was lamenting the fact that "Adam isn't big in the US" I pulled some figures from the numbers' thread to refute that claim. Out of 4 million singles sold, worldwide, 2.9 million are in the US Out of 1.2 million FYE albums, 800,000+ are from the US The % for recorded music is actually closer to 70% from the US. It was me that said that, what I meant was that Adam is not all over the radio in all the big cities, from what I can tell. I don't hear his songs near as much as Ke$ha and Katy Perry, and his popularity is not near that of Bieber's, who is huge right now and everywhere. Adam is way more talented than any other artist out there, and I wish his popularity was on the same level as some other pop stars. I'm sure he will get there.

Hi Buder!, I got a Kindle too but I've not read that many books yet. :-) JazzRocks, maybe you get nervous because it's ingrained into our psyche from being an Idol contestant. I was always nervous on performance nights. I got a Kindle for Christmas (did NOT ask for one) and haven't read the first thing. I'd never keep up with the Adamy goodness if I used my little bit of spare time to read books. LOL My son-in-law also gave me my own website for Christmas. Nope. Didn't ask for that either. He helped me upload one of my GNT vids to it. Not sure what the purpose of it was since it's all on my YouTube channel. LOL I think he thought I would write a blog or somehting. :

So I go up to my room, with laptop in tow, sit on the bed with the laptop on, will read on the Kindle when it's slow around here, and have one dog in my bathrobe and the other squished as close to me as she can get. They're happy and I can keep up on any late breaking Adam news because heaven forbid I miss out on it in real time.

I don't wanna be nervous! I'm always nervous. Honestly, I'll probably just sit here and squee with y'all online (well, depending on how effective I am getting though the bedtime milk/story/song routine!) keeping the television firmly OFF, until you tell me everything's ok. THEN I'll watch the tape! ;D

Thank you for missing me :D We did miss you and isn't it great to be missed? I think that is one of the signs of how well connected our Adam fandom has become. That we miss and worry about people who suddenly stop posting. For me this is the first online community that I have been involved in that truly worried about people who suddenly weren't around. In others I have seen it occasionally commented on but never more than idle curiosity. I think the recent news about Dhunken actually brought home to us how easily someone can disappear from the online community and we rarely find out why. While I think initially online relationships were rather superficial and involved a lot of covering up of people's real natures over time I believe more and more are transitioning into much more "real" relationships online and less "made up" online personas. I remember Adam commenting on how he ended up drawing away from the myspace, facebook style interaction because he saw how he was falling into the trap of creating a "persona" rather than being his real self as he was in his personal interactions. He talked about putting so much time and thought into how to present himself online and then realizing that it was just interfering with "real" communication. That's why he settled on twitter for his fan communication because it is easier for him to stay "real" on twitter. In reality it is no different than the masks we put on in our real lives. Adam is a rarity there as well because very few people are as truly open as he is. The majority of us cover and conceal our true selves to varying degrees and it is the rare individual who truly allows him or herself to be truly seen. For some the anonymity of the internet allows them to manipulate and deceive but for others like myself who have trouble with in person social interaction it can also free us from our limitations and allow us to do an be things we can't in real life. Sometimes we grow enough to transition that strength to real life and that is a good thing. I find it fascinating that the internet has been the new frontier of the times and just as with the wild west it was initially lawless, wild and uncivilized but over time the natural progression is swinging towards more order. I like that for the most part the "order" seems to be growing organically within small online communities rather than by a centralized rule system. Much as with the settling of the west people have come together in communities and gradually established codes of behavior some written some unwritten and many of these communities have begun to link to one another and "trade". It truly is a virtual world and it's development progresses in much the same way that our physical world has.

Purist on AWoP (she's Katie from Melbourne, who does the great Adam tributes on her radio station) is asking about this photo and where it was taken. I know I saw it on Adamtopia just the other day and someone was able to identify the location, but now for the life of me, I can't find where I saw it! Can someone provide the information? Thanks!
