What is "miekkonen"? thx It means my man but that's not really a good translation to it... There's no good way to translate it... but that's what it means. My man. Thx! I like it when Sauli refers Adam to "my man"; it sounds more established and long term, and solid than "my boyfriend".

Yay! New Sauli blog!! Hah... All this time I thought this would be his 28th birthday! Feeling kind of dumb right now. : (hiihii and I just love it when calls Adam as his "miekkonen!" So funny!) What is "miekkonen"? thx Miekkonen: - Mies = Man - -nen as ending usual is a diminutive(like: Koski=rapids, but Koskinen = small rapids) - sound of the miekkonen is a bit old fashioned, friendly and bookish sounding word. You would NOT use this word in comtemporary speech.

Have to say I much prefer the medges over the zipper boots (which my grandpa wore when he did the chores on the farm). ;D Oh, your grandpa wore Rick Owens boots on the farm? ;D ;D ;D Stylish!!! I find both versions ridiculous and OTT, but I love them on Adam! He's crazy and fierce. Well, Grandpa's were made of rubber, and it looks like Adam's are suede, which wouldn't last long in the barnyard... but the actual style of the boots is pretty similar.

It means my man but that's not really a good translation to it... There's no good way to translate it... but that's what it means. My man. I would say it is more like my fella than my man... But not in this context? That would be so if he would be speaking about some stranger like "there was that one funny miekkonen/fella" but when he's talking about his boyfriend then it's more like my man, right? idk... ;D

Bruno Mars became Bruno Mars by putting his own music out there. Same with Adele. Adam's music is just as good as theirs, and as a singer and performer he's better than the both of them put together. There's only a limited number of singles Adam can release off of this album, the first one wasn't his, and if now the second one is still isn't his, well, I'll be pissed. If CK's and BM's songs were decidedly better than Adam's, I'd say nothing, but they aren't! Bruno Mars was a songwriter/arranger/producer long before he put his first solo single out there. Bruno built his reputation as a songwriter and musician before he even introduced himself as a singer and performer. I'm sure many Adam fans would agree with you- that Adam is as accomplished at songwriting as Bruno and Adele. However, the overwhelming majority of radio listeners and the music industry would not agree with your statement in any way. I love Adam to death, but my opinion is that he is still working on his songwriting skills. He is still having to rely on others to help him write songs. He is a co-writer. IMO, Adams greatest assets lie in singing and performing at this time. Bruno and Adele have been writing songs, complete songs with melodies, for years. It takes time to become a PINK, Adele or Bruno. It's a process and Adam is learning. Right now Bruno and Adele have an industry wide respect all over the world for many songs that they have written, including multiple Grammy nominations and awards. I agree completely. I have to admit I'm a Bruno Mars fan. He seems to be an industry "friend" to Adam. At least he has acknowledged tweets publicly, etc. When I saw BM perform at the AMA's, his energy and brightness reminded me of Adam. Whether or not Adam's next single is NCOE (I hope it is), a relationship with Bruno can only be a good thing. But, whatever, I'm so far down the rabbit hole that I'd support Greensleeves to the ends of the earth.

I just read your comments guys and I have an urge to jump in for a second. NCOE is the least of my favorites. I am so pro Tresspasing. It is my favorite. When Adam sings, it is so him - energy, performance, attitude and great meaningful lyrics. What ever song will be his next singe - I will support it 100%. But personally I will not be happy with NCOE as his second single. To me it is too generic. : ITA. Move over so I can sit next to you on the Trespassing bench. Anyone else miss barefoot, dishevelled Adam, prowling around the stage? I'd love to see him do THAT for AI. I'm tired of angsty Adam, I want some ATTITUDE. But then, since I'm guessing his first thought every morning may NOT be, "What exactly can I do today to make Noreaster happiest?" it just might not work out that way!

Not really, siippa is spouse, but miekkonen refers in general to male person. If it would be "miekkoseni", that would be "my man". Finnish is a very easy language, most 2-year olds in here in Finland can speak it
