Radio fans can't see Adam perform -- it's gotta be an ear thing. I give up and give in about song choice. Personally, I've only listened to the snippets once and just a few of the acoustic versions. I'm waiting for the CD in all it's glory. The internet is a wonderment but we really don't know how these songs are produced and as good as they already sound recorded on cell phones, etc. I can hardly wait to hear the "real thing". My only issue with TP is the southern drawly cajuny sound Adam uses -- must be left over from his time with Drake. No offense intended to folks from our Southern States, it's just not Adam and IMO it's not particularly pop or funk either. Really. I live in the New Orleans area and I don't get the southern drawl cajuny sound from Adam on TP. Also, I think it is very funk but maybe not so much pop. I'm trying not to worry about this whole thing with the 2nd single but it's hard when I really thought BTIKM would do better. It's scary. ??? LOL I think that sound is probably more black chick from Compton than any sort of Cajun whatsoever. I believe Adam said he sang that in his black lady voice. You also must be confused about what drawl means because nothing sung at the pace of Trespassing could begin to approximate any kind of drawl. A drawl is SLOOOOOOW and drawn out. ETA: Sorry Jo I was really responding to Slapdash

Maybe it's just me. And, like you, I thought BTIKM would do better too. I still really like it. I think it became sort of a sacrificial song. I just don't like the way it's been pushed aside with the industry already seeming to want a second single from an cd that hasn't even been released. I'll never really understand how they expected a song to be requested without anyone hearing it being played. If you didn't see Leno or watch Ellen, you wouldn't have known about it. It seems to be a very fickle industry.

Ya, not hearing any southern drawl in Trespassing at all, either! :-/ First time I've even heard anyone mention it.

It seems to be a very fickle industry. I was raised in the heart of Cajun country which New Orleans ain't. Actually lived in New Iberia for six and a half years. There is nothing remotely cajun in his voice in Trespassing, I'd give you maybe 9th ward but definitely no Cajun. ETA: New Orleans accent is NOT Cajun, very different as is North Louisiana accent. Cajun is more tied to your heritage than your location.
