With headphones on, drink on hand, the 1:05 was the part I least liked... the backing vocals were kicking in and Adams vocals were mixed with someone else's... either the mix needed some adjustment ..or the other vocals do not seem to mesh well ... . well it's just me... but I am no music expert... overall I love the remix better than the one on the FYE album.... and I am glad this song has the chance to be enjoyed by many as the lyrics are very relevant .... very meaningful..... I'm listening on Ryan's page and 1:05/1:06 is exactly when the bakground vocals end and that surge of music kicks in. Yes you are right... the surge is the best part... the backing vocals is the one I have a bit of trouble ... but now I listened to the FYE album version it's the same backing vocals... and the remix actually makes the whole thing sound better... I am really loving the remix....

One more thing, as far as the length for radio goes, they could let it fade out anytime after 3:45 and wouldn't loose any important bits of the song.

Adam tweeted earlier to credit Howard Benson on vocal production, so I think you are right that this was a different recording of the song. adamlambert Adam Lambert keep requesting #AftermathRemix! (props to Howard Benson for orig vocal production) 6 hours ago Just my humble 2 cents on the subject of Howard Benson vocal production. When an artist like Adam that has unlimited range and a vast pallet for vocal phrasing embellishment is in the recording phase of a song, the producer &/or artist will usually record a variety of different vocal tracks, so when they are doing the final mix of the song, they can choose what feel/vibe the want the song to have. When Adam contracts someone to do a remix of his music, they will be supplied with all or most of the tracks so the remixer will be able to have the full pallet of tools/tracks available to create there "magic". So when Adam credits Howard Bensons vocal production, the vocal tracks we hear on the remix where recorded and produced by Howard during the FYE recording, so Billboard used some vocal tracks that where available to him that weren't used on the FYE version of Aftermath because Howard chose to take the FYE version in a different direction. Sorry if I was rambling or that did not make any sense! LOL Actually, this was not rambling for me. I was curious why Adam gave the kudos to Howard Benson, you answered my question/curiosity. So, I am guessing that Howard Benson liked Allison backing vocals? That is one of the main reasons I always skip the song on FYE. Did you like the song on FYE? Do you like the remix?

I've got my headphones on and have been listening to the remix on constant loop for hours (that's ridiculous - I never listen to remixes - bought the previous ones just to support Adam, but never listen to them) I LOVE THIS ONE!

I hope Adam is never in the position that he has to resort to singing idiotic songs written by Kesha. "Now that I'm famous you're up in my anus" An example of her brilliant lyrics, and I don't give a F**k how many record she sells, that is bubblegum pop, very little talent required, every song sounds the same. She has written a song for Brittney Spears, who is desparate for a comeback, so no surprise there. Get the hits while they're hot suckers. It is obvious that Adam is striving for longevity , respect in the industry , and an album that he states will be honest and open about his life experiences. Why would a true fan recommend that he would sell-out to songs like Keshas just to get hits on the radio. I hope Adam writes an album that he feels from his heart, and if it does not sell millions like the shit that Kesha (and many others) spew out that is okay by me. Elizalynn, how did you read my mind from such a distance?

So, Kanadie, when the hell you gonna start the "technical audio expertise" thread??? HUH???! ;D LOL ??????? If I really felt like I could dedicate the time to it I would like, I would do it. I still may, but I have never want to come off as someone who has the answers or my word is the way it is. 8-) So how about we never refer to you as the expert, but as our favorite resource? Less pressure, right?

Adam is playing with my mind. I'm not so young; so, sometimes I hear what I want to hear; sometimes I hear what I need to hear. Wanna say? Wanna stay? Wanna play? What I say? One day? And, at the end . . . one love? Does it matter? I'm dancing in the dark, tonite. I know nothing of 'remixes' or how it's done; or club dances, or club beats - - - but I sure hear the beat in this song. I hear, above all, the voice. Asking if I could rewrite the role I 'play'. 'Play' has taken on a new meaning - having heard it sung so tenderly. Smitten again. I came here after work - fifty pages already! You people are fucking amazing. I just have to join the party for a moment - before I turn out the lights and listen to him sing, again. I love "choir Adamtopia". Voices honest - of every timbre, soprano and alto; low and reassuring; sharp and seeking; full of resonance; a tenor - maybe new, tentative - still finding the key; the notes; the rhythm. Vibrato; straight tone - raspy or clear; but always pure. This is music. I love this!

Just having it lets people ask questions they may not have thought to ask on the daily thread. Those questions lead to discussion and new insights and appreciation of Adam. I am not the know-all when it comes to music theory and vocal production. I know SOMETHING, but you know how they say the best way to learn something is to teach it? That has been the case for me. Some of the questions have sent me on quests and research and deeper consideration than I normally do. I learn. We learn. It's good fun.

I still may, but I have never want to come off as someone who has the answers or my word is the way it is. 8-) No, it wouldn't be like that! Just answers to technical questions we have or things we want to discuss. Like tonight and what you actually know about recording because you've been there. Awww, c'mon! You wouldn't have even had to read 50 pages if there was technical thread we could have gone to. Like how does this all get done over computers, and not lose any quality, and without the parties never even meeting each other! (I'm scaring you, huh!) LOL ;D No your not scaring me at all! To answer your question in short. It is pretty simple and really know different than you downloading a mp3 or wav file from iTunes or a download site like mesdiafire, etc, just a lot more of them. Most likely Adams people or whorever possess the master recordings of his songs, will provide the tracks on say an ftp site(which allows high speed large file transfers) then Billboard goes to that web address and downloads digitally all, a portion, or whatever is provided of the tracks he will need for his project. You don't loose quality because it is an exact digital clone of the original-copy/paste.
