No disrespect meant to the other performers but Adam was in a totally different league...different stratosphere!! Adam performing with Queen and maybe something with Elton John.....squeeee....that's Adam's league!! ;D |

I have a question that might be "dumb" but I have to ask. When I pre-order a cd, whether from Amazon or B & N, if it is shipped out early, will it not count toward sales on soundscan? I thought I read somewhere that unless a cd is shipped out "after" the formal release date, it is not counted in sales. B & N has a great pre-order price, but i don't want to buy if it won't count as a sale. No dumb questions  It will most certainly count toward soundscan sales numbers! Buy away. For online and mail order sales -- the sale transaction occurs when the item is delivered, not when it is shipped. For items with release dates, the Soundscan rule is that the intended delivery date is what is used. So when you preorder an item that is officially released on 5/15/12, it could be shipped on 5/10/12 for delivery on 5/15/12. It might get delivered on 5/14/12 but it will still count because the intent was to deliver it on release date. In a retail store, however, it the sale is rung up at 11:59PM on 5/14/12 it will not count because it was sold before the release date. |
