Adam Lambert’s second single from ‘Trespassing’ — ‘Never Close Our Eyes’ cartermatt.com/14531/adam-lamberts-second-single-from-trespassing-never-close-our-eyes/...We really weren’t sure what song Adam was going to pick as his next single (his performance of “Trespassing” at the NewNowNext Awards had us leaning in that direction), but the song clearly has a strong radio hook, and the star power behind it may also help for promotional purposes in the all-important Top 40 Radio chart. more

How SAD!!!!!!!! I hope Adam isn't seeing this type of shit on his twitter feed! That's the last thing he needs! Ugh.... >:( I know it...I don't understand all the negativity. this song is made for radio. and "no hook"?? LOL I can't get it out of my head! Looking through the tweets to Adam ... really not seeing a lot of negative comments. Only 3-4 tweets saying NCOE is too safe a choice or too slow-paced. Otherwise, a whole lotta love. So, no worries about Adam getting a lot of negative feedback.

Mods, is it possible to put this on the front page so it's easy to find and do first thing in the morning? Thanks!

I'm sorry, but I cannot lie. I am not excited. This is another safe song without a discernable hook. I was right about BTIKM, and I hope I am wrong about this song. It is not a charter, particularly for UK and many of the Euro countries. I do not want to lie either. I am not happy at all. TMHO this is very generic song and I do not see this song to attract new audience for Adam. I just don't. Honestly I would like to be wrong and the song will be a hit and the radio will play shit out of it. Well, we will see.

I have loved NCOE after about the third listen to the snippet. At first I didn't think it was such a good song, but now I love it. Especially after Adam did the acoustic version of it. (Honestly, it takes me a few listen-throughs to really love any of Adam's songs and I consider myself a HUGE fan, just ask my family.)
Also I hear it everytime I get in the car with my 4 year old daughter. She loves the snippet and head bangs to it in her car seat. If she she out and can dance to it, she shakes her butt like there is no tomorrow. Somehow her reaction to the song has made me a bigger fan of it.

ETA: False alarm - not the verified Bruno account. Bruno Mars @marsbrunos @brunomarsfans Adam Lambert just picked Never Close Our Eyes, written by Bruno, as his next single!!

Whenever I talk about / want to promote Adam I never talk about a specific song but the person / artist. You can not nail him down to one song. So if "popular opinion" would want to nail him down to his next single only ... my ass .... never gonna happen!!!
ALL OF HIS SONGS are ADAM!!! Not a single one, and I just don't care about spins, but that is likely bc we don't spin in Austria ;-)
So this is a step, and a step in the right direction IMHO ... let's get the party started!!!

TommyJoe Ratliff @tommyjoeratliff Reply Retweet Favorite · Open “@shining_Adam: @tommyjoeratliff what do you think about NCOE?” it's fuckin gorgeous! Wait till you guys hear it! 💃 So excited to hear what they've done with the final version. Hooray! I think this song could is gonna do really great things for Adam. It was not my own personal favorite amongst the snippets (and because I'm a selfish bastard that meant it was not my first choice for the new single) but I really like it, and I do think (and I am all-knowing, no, really, don't snicker) that it was the most radio-friendly, and had the easiest path up the charts. It does not surprise me in the least that it received the best response from radio. I expect it to soar. And of all the snippets, THIS was the song that was the BEST showcase for Adam's vocal potential and derring-do. This is the song that will make their jaws drop on TV. I love all the songs we've heard, and Trespassing and Cuckoo are right up my alley, but this is the only snippet that only Adam could do vocal justice to live. Guys, this is like Soaked set to a dance rhythm. What I particularly love about this song for Adam is that it shows off the wonderful theatricality of his voice. That's what blew me away in the two live performances we've seen--it is practically operatic. And if it strikes me that way, who knows so well what Adam is capable of, just imagine it how it will wow the uninitiated masses! This song is made for "Idol Moments" way outside the Idol bubble. This a DAMN WHO IS THAT DUDE!!? song, and I love that. I hope he freaking destroys televisions all across the country with a CRANKED UP performance of it. With lasers. yeah, lots of lasers. Just to celebrate: [smokey--I hear ya. I could never quite drag my ass onto the BTIKM bandwagon and that's okay. No need for you to agree with this choice or with the masses, and I'm sorry you've been twice disappointed. I have my own reasons for flickering disappointment with this choice, and I'm repeatedly frustrated by RCA single choices, whether they turn out to be successful or not, lol. But for whatever reason, I have high high hopes for this song's radio success even though I suspect your tastes and mine align quite a lot...in case that makes you feel any better. I think it creates a mood, and songs that successfully create a mood are powerful radio weapons. And Adam can take a little disagreement here and there. I'm not worried about what he sees in his feed. I'm sure a large part of him prefers an honest response to an edited one, and he's got plenty to smile about either way! :D] ETA: to anyone who doubts the danceyness of NCOE and thinks of it as ballady or mid-tempo, just hit play on the first youtube vid above and watch those little yellow smileys abovie it bounce in time to the beat and to the laser show. Yeah!Lasers! ;D
