The controversy had me a bit puzzled, so I watched the improved Nokia Aftermath then rewatched a few times, tonight's Idol Aftermath. My take? When he performed it in cncert it was more dramatic, more about the vocal range, more about whipping the audience into a frenzy with each run. On Idol tonight, it was exactly what he said it was, all about the words. He put feeling into the lyrics, gesturing, smiling more intimately rather than the "having fun sharing this with me?" smile in concert As someone mentioned earlier, how many artists sing so you can actually hear and relate to every word? I am so torn between staying here and seeing what I missed and listening and watching him over and over as he sings, interacts with Ryan and the audience, and gives every audience member a visual hug as he scans their faces. I'm very serious, I love this man.

I realize we West Coasters are late to the party, but SQUEEEEE!!! OMG, he's so gorgeous. And that voice. ILHSFM. Add another West Coast SQUEEEEE! We really are fortunate as fans. To me, that was perfection, a stunning performance that beautifully portrayed an important message. I did leave work an hour early today so I could watch the East Coast stream and thought it was gorgeous then. I watched it over and over on YouTube in between downloading and listening to the remix but wanted to wait and squeee West Coast time.

I was out shopping and didn't get to watch live but I watched when I got home and then read through the thread to see everyone's reaction. He looked gorgeous. Probably better than I've seen him looking in a while. The entire look was stunning. He sounded great although I wasn't crazy about the arrangement itself. I thought he owned that final high note and was glad he pulled that out. That's called schooling the children ;D on a final note before I go to bed allow me to edit this quote He sang. He Slayed. I came
That is all

25 million saw this face, and felt his message of JOy.... I am with A'topians - a Resounding success for Aftermath and for Adam's support of the Trevor project.... he got his message across...
I love that 25 million people got to see this beautiful face and hear his perfect vocals. He will remind a lot of the AI audience why they fell in love with him in the first place.

Aftermath has always been *my song*. Just ask hoopla1, she'll tell you...lol!! I love every version of it!! Yep, even on FYE!! And, I always will. I'm one of the few that loved it from the beginning. The words just spoke to me. I am forever grateful that those 4 wrote this wonderful song. It will be in my heart forever!!! Oh, yeah, Glittergma, I WILL vouch for ya!! And I've always agreed with you--the first time I listened to FYE, that's the song that made me cry. (Now I dance to it.) Have you lost your way? Livin' in the shadow of the messes that you made And so it goes, Everything inside your circle starts to overflow... Anyone who knows me would understand how very personally I took those lyrics back then--AND after the past week, especially. In fact, I really think Adam is a very good lyricist. I like ALL the songs he had a hand in. I get what people mean when they say they wish he would write "hooky" songs...but I think he does. For me. I want lyrics that hook my heart. He writes them. I want him to get everything he wants, so if he has to come up with a TikTok, that's fine with me. But I'm not invested in that at all. He may decide to just be happy with a few less dimmers. He won't disappoint me--ever--because all I want is for him to do #whateverthefuckhewantstodo, as long as it involves music.

I can still remember the first time I posted on a board. After months of lurking and just enjoying what I read, I ventured to post an opinion. I remember the elation when I was responded to and someone agreed. I also remember the frustruation when I felt I was ignored.
I don't worry about those things anymore. Experience has shown me that just because no one responds doesn't mean much. Sometime, it means that many agree and had nothing further to say. Sometimes it means that all disagreed and chose to let it lay. Further, sometimes it means nothing. I post things that I feel. I no longer expect acceptance. I expect the opportunity to express what I feel whether anyone agrees or not. I accept an opinion that is polar opposite from mine and I try to understand why. Sometimes I find that I am just being an ass and I get called out on that. Thanks for all of those that have made me aware of when i thought I was giving good face but instead I was just showing my ass.
I like differing opinions.
