Threads are like the ocean -- they have waves. But after two years there is a clear pattern. Adam is going to perform -- as it approaches people get really excited. Then it happens and some things are not as expected. First there is the that was great comments. Then the issues are noted. Then it swings back to that was great. Then people who commented on the details listen to the whole performance and decide it was fine, great, amazing, etc. You can see it in every perform thread for 2 years.
Now for my nit pick ----- and I would only bother to comment on this about an Adam performance.
The section is at 2:40 in the performance -- it needed a slightly longer break for the transition when he shifted from the rock wail to the end of the song. This was an unresolved part of the arrangement and it puzzles me. My only thought is Adam extended his wail longer then he planned and did not have a good way to get to the next part of the song. It is like he got caught up in the moment of the song.
Hubby asked me how peeps liked Adam tonight and I described the thread in much the same way you just did, Q3. You just sit and bob along, always keeping your eye on the horizon until the ship rights itself. I love this place. Re the comment about the shift at 2:40. I was surprised when it happened but in a good way (tm whatshername). It was dramatic and hooked me right in. I liked it. Well it was unusual for Adam to have an unresolved vocal moment like that -- and that makes it interesting to me. I also like it but was surprised by it. Other singers do this all the time and I would not even mention it Adam rarely does anything like this. I think it was a sign of how emotionally involved he was in the performance.

Perfectly Beautiful!!I stepped back ever so slightly from the Adam bubble that I live in and tried to experience tonight's performance like a "normal" person. Watching and listening with my two best Idol buddies who enjoy Adam but truth be told they've always had a little too much fun watching me watch Adam. Tonight was no different. Very annoying, but I totally get it. All and all I give tonight a 20!• Tonight's performance was perfectly beautiful. • Adam was handsome, stunning, sexy, vulnerable, sweet, etc. • The press and Twitter-Press comments I've seen so far (MTV, VH1, USA Today, Billboard, After Elton, etc.) have ALL been completely positive. • The audience was ALL Adam's! • Yahoo trending, Twitter followers up, iTunes up, and many, many comments from fans and non fans about how wonderful GNAFL was tonight. We have no way of knowing what Steven Tyler was thinking when Adam performed, or why he did or didn't move his facial muscles in a particular way before during or after Adam's performance. But what I do feel completely confident in saying is that after Adam and Steven spent time chatting it up, there is no doubt whatsoever in my mind that Steven Tyler is impressed with Adam Lambert. We know Adam makes an impact and there's no way he didn't have a positive impact on ST. IMO. So much love today... A perfectly beautiful day!!

Well, it's almost time for me to sign off...Imma watch listen to tonight's beautiful performance while I catch up on last couple of pages...then Imma dance my way to my big comfy bed and MAYBE have an Adam comfort-dream! ILHSFM ETA: Hi, Winks, and ITA! I would like to take back what I said about ST earlier--cause I have no clue what he was thinking. I will choose to believe he was gobsmacked!

Adam was amazing on AI tonight, and I'll replay it many times, but right now I'm listening - on repeat - to the Aftermath remix. I am not a remix fan, but this one is pretty addictive!
Everyone talks about hooks - "All you feel is love, love, love..." is pretty good IMO...
Have a feeling tonight won't be the last TV appearance for awhile. He's just too talented and gorgeous - lots of folks will want him. Album #2 will be the priority, but a little PR thrown in will be ok, too...
