The controversy had me a bit puzzled, so I watched the improved Nokia Aftermath then rewatched a few times, tonight's Idol Aftermath. My take? When he performed it in cncert it was more dramatic, more about the vocal range, more about whipping the audience into a frenzy with each run. On Idol tonight, it was exactly what he said it was, all about the words. He put feeling into the lyrics, gesturing, smiling more intimately rather than the "having fun sharing this with me?" smile in concert As someone mentioned earlier, how many artists sing so you can actually hear and relate to every word? I am so torn between staying here and seeing what I missed and listening and watching him over and over as he sings, interacts with Ryan and the audience, and gives every audience member a visual hug as he scans their faces. I'm very serious, I love this man.Aspen, couldn't leave without saying how much I loved your last two posts.

Readon --- ITA --- I like differing opinions. Adam hit a home run tonight based on comments all over the place from non-Adam fans. And that is what he needed to do. Start to position himself to go after a broader audience. Also, he is getting get support on gay sites -- which have not universally supported Adam. The net, net = win, win, win for Adam, RCA and Trevor Project. I love hearing this, Q3. JMHO but I think Gaga, Katy Perry, and Kesha's songs for gay rights just don't have the impact in the LGBT community that Adam's heart felt and joyous empowerment anthem does. He is such a positive role model for troubled youth or for anyone who feels different and out of place in the world. The acoustic Aftermath is inspiring and helpful to those who feel all alone. And the remix Aftermath is, also, inspiring, uplifting, and joyous....plus added fun with it's clubby beat! It's all win, win for me! I listened to tonight's performance on repeat with my headphones and I didn't hear any flat notes at the beginning of the song as some have mentioned. I thought it was a very memorable moment for Idol and for everyone watching. He looked gorgeous, sang beautiful joyous notes, and had a huge smile on his face that melted my heart. So proud to be an Adam fan. Got a busy day tomorrow...good night all.

I'm hopelessly behind and will never catch up on the thread, since I had to stan and bert on the run tonight, and now I have to pack for a weekend trip.
But I thought the performance was beautiful beautiful beautiful.
Very real and heartfelt. Any flaws (and I'm willing to admit it wasn't perfect) only added to the beauty of it, IMO. It's like that lyric by Leonard Cohen... "There's a crack in everything, that's how the light gets in." That performance was radiant with light.
I love him!
