www.popstar.com/News/Shows/Article/876Adam Lambert Strips Down "Aftermath" on American Idol
Sometimes the message is more important than the song itself. That was Adam Lambert's creed as he performed an unplugged version of the song Aftermath on Fox's American Idol Thursday night. The glam-rocker stripped it down and delivered a very un-glam-like performance of the song, which was aimed at LGBT troubled youth struggling with their identity and with the prejudices they face as a result of being different. It's a message that hits home with Lambert and ultimately inspired the song, which he co-wrote with friends. Idol fans were excited to see the Season 8 superstar return to the stage where he set a new bar for hopefuls with performances like Mad World, A Change Is Gonna Come, and the Johnny Cash classic Ring of Fire. And no-one has since descended those Idol stairs like Lambert, who sashayed his way down with the prowess of sexy-fied cat during the Nina Simone classic Feelin' Good. Nostalgia aside, his longstanding fans are proud of more than just Lambert's pipes. They stand by their man for his dedication to keeping it real. He has spoken out about prejudice and spoken up about acceptance. As a supporter of the Trevor Project, Lambert is dedicating proceeds from the re-mix of Aftermath sold on his official website to the charitable organization which started the "It Gets Better" campaign. During a post-performance exchange between Lambert and the judges, it was Jennifer Lopez who took the reins, teasing Lambert about doing the "dougie" dance. When he asked her to show him how to do it, she blushed then gushed, "I'll teach you how to dougie later baby, don't you worry!" (Jennifer later watched former flame Ditty Dirty Money perform "Coming Home.") As performances go, this one will be remembered for it's poignant simplicity, it's relevant message, and the fact that a traditionally flamboyant artist shed his glitter and glam in the interest of something bigger than himself.
In the aftermath, it's The Stuff real idols are made of.

However, tonight was even more special than usual because one of my favorite Idol alums, the one-and-only Adam Lambert, was in the house — and the energy was electrifying. more here, Link: www.hollywoodlife.com/2011/03/10/adam-lambert-meets-steven-tyler-american-idol/
