Guess who else's single comes out tonight? Maroon 5 (Adam Levine) With his current Voice popularity and with how big Moves Like Jagger was, expect it to jump right to #1 on i-Tunes! And thye are performing it on The Voice tonight! I just listened. I predict it will be HUGE!
ETA: This is interesting. Their new album comes out June 26th and was Executive Produced by Max Martin. Might explain why Max did not do any of Adam's songs. He was probably too busy.

I've wondered what it is about the East coast? He was/is there alot. Not a bad thing. Just wondering You just reminded me that's a small venue. I thought it was the big arena (I should read the whole thing next time, oops) Five of the top 10 radio markets are in The East. Adam can get a lot of "bang for his buck" by visiting and courting these radio stations that are in the same area. LA radio is a tough nut to crack. Their top CHR station leans HEAVILY towards the Rhythmic/Hip Hop side of Pop. It may be that there is just more interest in Adam's music on the East Coast.

NCOE sounded SO good on radio!! Happy tears! blueberry Thanks for the tip! NCOE sounded really great! NCOE is also in "hit or miss" competition. I voted, of course .... The competition will be resolved 21.30. I am grateful for the NRJ took NCOE in the contest, because a large group of people listens to this program .

I thought it was the big arena (I should read the whole thing next time, oops) Probably because as far as the U.S. media is concerned, the northeast is the center of the world, and the rest of the United States is just a strange and forsaken land known as "flyover country." I still talk to people on the East Coast who think that if they come to Texas they can expect to meet cowboys and see tumbleweeds rolling down the street. But the northeast is the center of the world! And you will never be able to convince me otherwise. ;D I may try for this show. The Kirby Center is where he played his first GNT show. It was hell trying to get tickets for that show. I ended up joining the Kirby Center as a patron just to try to get some decent seats and ended up with seats that did not meet my standards. A bad weekend in which I needed cheering up prompted me to go to Stubhub and buy two pairs of much closer seats. Spent a bunch of money but the seats were worth it. Got to experience the concert with Q3, which was a treat, since my other friends with me weren't Adam fans. Anyway, long story to say that I can't imagine it will be easy to get seats for this show, unless the fact that it is not an opening night of a tour puts it in less demand. But I may give it a shot anyway.

Kerby Center is 2100 seats and a great old theater. Acoustics were not totally ideal, but quite decent during GNT. But that was their very first concert, so it is hard to tell whether that was the venue or Adam's team still finding their way. But it was still a good sound.
During GNT, even though this was the venue that got the GNT premiere, the tickets did not sell out within the first few minutes, like it did in other venues up and down the east coast. Remember, during GNT, the initial announcement was for 30something concerts at first with more to be announced in following weeks. That first package of 30 concerts went on sale in groups of 5-10 venues at a time, and some venues sold out within minutes. W-B was NOT one of them, yet of course by the time of the actual concert it was sold out. Locals within W-B did not know about Adam coming until they either read the banner on the theater or listened to the right radio station.
In the end W-B is small town America, two or more hours away for most people, even in the surrounding wider area. Adam chose it last time because he wanted to start in the NE, but yet out of the eyes of media and have a few quiet days to prepare with his Glamily. Somehow he must have good memories of it, this will be his third time back in Wilkes-Barre.
Aprilmarie, Virg, looking forward to seeing you and others there.
While W-B may be off the beaten path, otherwise the Northeast is of course the most populated area of the US, so it seems natural that it would get a lot of coverage. My amazement is just that he is always focused on NY, NJ, PHL and the Boston area, but seems to be spending significantly less time in DC and Baltimore which is obviously also a huge market and should see just as many concerts as either PHL or Boston. But somehow that is not how it has been going.
The lack of radio support is of course part of that, but W-B has also not been the first to spin BTIKM. Overall Pennsylvania was of course very good to Adam during BTIKM roll-out.
Brings me back to one point I have mentioned here a few times, but somehow never heard about it. In our GNT documentation, in the spreadsheet that shows all their concerts and how many tickets were sold, the first two weeks of GNT are missing. That includes the premiere in W-B. I guess, Billboard never had any ticket sales information for those. Are we ever going to add these first few concerts in manually to complete the spreadsheet to the best of our knowledge. I saw that worksheet copied around everywhere from Japan to Brazil, and yet the version is always incomplete. At least we could probably add the dates and venues, even if we don't know all the sales information. Anyone know who 'owns' that spreadsheet?

You can also see cowboys riding down the side of the HWY in full roping gear and in the middle of cattle roundups.
