p.s. could someone remind me - when purchasing multiple physical copies, do all the CDs count towards the totals sold? Or, should copies be purchased from different sources? I think "what counts or not&qu, ot; may apply more to iTunes...my memory is not great on this. Non-normal sales do not count as retail sales. Soundscan can unilaterally change the retail sales rules whenever they want. Their goal to to try to reflect the true popularity of music and to eliminate any skew caused by avid fans or large volume purchases. TO BE SAFE --- In retail stores -- purchase 6 or fewer at a time. You can buy 20 CDs form Walmart store in 4 purchases of 5 and all will count. DO NOT DO IT SEQUENTIALLY. DO NOT USE THE SAME CREDIT OR DEBIT CARD. They will not be combined. CD's purchased direct, digital music -- purchase 6 or fewer items of a chart item (all Trespassing albums, all NCOE tracks) from one retailer shipped to one address OR purchased with one account. > You could set up two Amazon accounts with two different names and shipping address and use different credit cards and purchase 12 from Amazon. USE DIFFERENT COMPUTERS. >You can also do the same with iTunes. NOTE: ALL SALES COUNT FOR RIAA CERTIFICATION AND FOR PROFITABLITY OF ALBUM PROJECT -- THE ABOVE IS JUST FOR BILLBOARD CHARTS. JMHO -- it is not worth jumping thru too many hoops for Billboard charts.
