IMHO he should be higher than at #28 ??? [puts on her babushka, and does a yenta imitation] WHAAAAAA??!! He's not a doctor or a lawya. He didn't finish college. He doesn't keep kosha. You expect him to be higha than #28 ?? [does brushoff motion] When he meets a nice Jewish boy and they have kids in Hebrew school, he can go higha.  ;D ;D |

I love mika's idea for the NCOE video. I was wondering, along those lines, if they'd consider using regular people for some of the scenes? They could ask ordinary people around the world--of all races, ages, gender, sexuality, nationality, body type, etc.--to come to locations in their countries to film something for the video, and the video could sweep the globe in a time-lapse way to feature the groups of people. Or maybe do a "through the centuries" kind of thing, with one group of actors and dancers dressed up differently across different eras? And if not that then twirling. I envision a lot of twirling in the video. I loved your whole post but the last bit about the video reminded me of the one I think Caymen posted. With all the endless depressing news around the world this video was such a refreshing change and gives you that wonderful we're all more alike than different and isn't it a beautiful world we live in feeling. And it makes you want to DANCE. But at night..and, yes, twirling. It definitely needs lots of twirling. ;D Thanks, jamie, I missed this video the first time around. It's really great. rabbitrabbit, I remember watching Kelly's video for "Stronger" when it came out, but I wasn't picturing a flashmob type of scenario for Adam (unless that's what they call it now whenever you get a group of people together?). Thanks, I hadn't seen the Guetta video before, and even though it's not quite what I was imagining either, it does have a "world coming together" kind of theme, too. Phooey. Seems like everything's been done one way or another! I can only hope that whatever Adam chooses to do (with the concept of "community" and a "movement"), he's able to put a fresh twist on it. ( Craazyforadam's spin on it is neat.) I'm curious to see what he comes up with since his description of the video caused him to break out the previously scorned "epic." I trust that his idea must be pretty special. I was hoping that they'd have the music video completed by the week of his album release so that they could air clips, going in and out of interview/performance segments and such, when he's doing TV promo. And it would also make a nice one-two punch after his Idol appearance, if people who're interested in the song could find the video online or see it that week on VH1. But if they haven't even selected a director yet, then it doesn't seem likely that the video will be finished by that time. Listening to Shady right now and I love Adam talking & laughing in the background of the 2nd low verse. Also, I am having a wish right now that Sam shows up at Kimmel next week and they do Shady live! I would die! That would be really cool, but Sam's doing a concert here in Atlanta that night. I was thinking about the going but the club sounds kinda shady, so I'm not too sure that I will. (I've been to a show at that venue before but it was one of their outside concerts, not indoors.) Fingers crossed Sam and Adam will appear on stage together somewhere sometime soon. Sorry to hear from everyone who's having such a hard time with the Queen tickets! Hope you guys can get it sorted without much further frustration or expense and that by July all the aggravation is a distant memory and only excitement remains. |

NCOE video: Yes, I think a 'party around the world' video has been done and done recently too, as pointed out above. But if you photograph opening eyes from around the world and show what's going on behind them or around them or what is reflected in them, you can play off the theme and yet make it more artistic and more interesting. Using it interspersed with other scenes can be quite effective. Brian May has used it very well during his 10 minutes guitar solo. Eye starts at 4:30 and shows up at varying points in next 3 minutes or so, but the whole solo is worth watching: www.youtube.com/watch?v=JYabmM-uxdEObviously, this would have to be incorporated differently in a MV, but the basic idea could work for a Never Close Our Eyes theme from around the world, I think. Is it too much for KA to respond with ' love your new song too' or something along those lines? :  What is wrong with this guy? Ann Landers once said, "A gift is not a gift if you expect something in return." Adam hands out "gifts" without any expectations and that is part of the answer when DJs ask him why his fans are so loyal and why they will do anything for him. He is rare, not only in the entertainment industry, but in life as a whole. I'm sure he feels validated (and shocked sometimes) when people he admires compliment him and how wonderful is that? As sexy, savvy, and experienced as Adam is, he is still an innocent in many ways......... which makes the sexy part so much more a, a, a.....well, SEXY. |

He's had way more time than Adam has had over the past couple of months. Adam was on an 18 city radio tour where giving a mini-concert and having a M&G two to three times a day, yet he managed to listen to Kris' new song, mention it in interviews and tweet about it. RCA sends out the links to Adam's new singles just like they do for NAL's. I imagine that is how Adam knows what is going on with Kris. I just want to give ONE comment in here.. . I rarely wanted to listen to any YT of Kris but I actually watch to one of his short YT when he was at the Houston Mix 86.5 (just because it's 2mins YT). Ohh.. he's was "watching" Adam... Not sure what point is being made here, but this YT is almost 2 years old. For me the bottom line is-- I stan Adam, Adam's a sweetheart and a nice guy who often gives shoutouts and praise to people in his life, and he has no expectation of reciprocation. None of us knows what is in Kris's head or how he feels about Adam's career/music/life. More importantly, discussion of these exciting details belongs on a Kris fansite.  I have absolutely no expectations that other celebs/whatever tweet about Adam or acknowledge him or his music. If they do, awesome. If not, eh. We all know Adam is unique, so this is just more proof of that. |

Ergo, a gay man, even an insanely talented gay man, often isn't valued all that highly. My mother looks at Adam (like she views almost any male Jewish gay) and says "What a waste". >:( ETA: He might be "redeemed" if he has children. But since Jewishness is traditionally only carried in the mother's line, his kids wouldn't be considered Jewish. [snort] Unless maybe the surrogate was Jewish. Male-male families aren't covered under the traditional precepts ??? : |

Happy Birthday glitterglambert98 and crazy4you!! I'm predicting this year will be full of good Adam things for you, lol. Today I am suddenly feeling really zen about spins, numbers, radio play etc... I understand Adam wants these things, and I will buy, vote and request because of that. But today I am zen and trying to think why. Listening to the snippets last night, I felt any angst just melt away. Thinking about it this morning, I realize that the fact that the album is this good and resonates with me in such a deeply satisfying way makes it already a success for me. I know it is good artistically, and that is also so pleasing and satisfying and rich. I am genuinely so happy for Adam. I feel he knows it is good as well, on that artistic level, and it is the deep, personal knowing that makes us soul happy rather than the mercurial noise of crowds in the ever shifting wind. Of course, lol, money is rewarding, and fortunately he is already doing well in that regard and will continue to do well by most standards and have the opportunities that brings, but in the end, as they say, it can't by you love, most importantly self-love. Love this post, lynne. I feel the same way and I'm definitely in a "you don't gotta stress this" space. I'm so proud of what Adam's created with Trespassing. His work is just so ridiculously good on this album. I can only imagine how good he must feel about what he's accomplished and it makes me so happy to know that he's happy! I hope the music gets the critical notice that it deserves, but that's just icing on a wonderful cake. Adam needs the sales numbers to stay viable on the pop music scene, and as an artist he must really want as many people as possible to hear what he produced, so I really hope that happens for him, too. I'm so glad for his sake that when he's in either "artist" or "businessman" mode while he's promoting this CD, he'll have a product to "sell" that he truly loves and that's truly awesome. |

I know it's OT but just wanted to point out that YT video is not current, probably from KA's first album promo, and things have changed since then. Sometimes, people are thrown together, even seemingly bonded under circumstances, (like going thru Idol together till the very end). But ultimately, they're very different people from very different backgrounds, running different circles, and really don't have much in common. I believe when Adam said there wasn't much personal contact with KA at all. While I am a liberal, sharing many similar views with Adam, I have no problem with KA, well, just maybe he could articulate his thoughts better, for once. Sorry going off the subject. Okay, I'm done! :-) |
