I love seeing Adam fanboying over his favorite on AI. And, what a sweetheart to tweet KA too. Who does that? Adam, of course. I wonder if he's watched AI enough to know that Jessica Sanchez is from San Diego? I'm pretty sure she even mentioned him at some point in the show, saying he was her fav from prior years. Hope she's still there next month so she can meet Adam. ETA: Duh, I meant month, not week. It's late & I'm tired.

I'm addicted to the snippets. They are consuming my waking hours (which I am extending just so that I can listen to them)! I would give almost anything for the full version of "Kickin' In" right now!! (I would say the same about "Underneath"--that song is beyond words. But somehow I'm content to wait for that one; it might be too much for me to handle currently.)
I adore to (ever so slightly) varying degrees all of the songs; Trespassing will be an amazing album start to finish, but I am on the cloud with "Kickin' In" at the moment. Love it so hard!
And I want a video for it so bad! It's such a visual song (like almost all of the songs on the album); I can picture it in my head already. I also really need to see an Adam and Sam and Nile performance of "Shady" on my TV!
I've been hoping for at least six singles from the CD even before Adam said he wanted to work the album for two to three years, which makes so many singles seem like a real possibility. After hearing the album preview, I dream of nine or ten. How can they choose?! My personal preference for follow-up singles, just basing it off of the snippets and limited to only four more, would be "Cuckoo," "Chokehold," "Kickin' In," and "Naked Love," in that order. I hope Adam's comment about "Chokehold" being an album track doesn't turn out to be true! Would be such a shame. If somehow through some miracle we actually got six more singles instead of six total, I'd also add "Shady" and "Underneath" (how can I squeeze "Broken English" and "Pop That Lock" in there, too?). Even though the last four do seem to me to be designed to be album tracks, I would love to hear them on the radio. Now that I've listened to bits of all of the songs, "Trespassing," which I love, does sound more like an album cut and awesome live concert song to me, along with "Outlaws of Love."
But in truth, whatever singles they put out going forward, in whatever order, I will be sublimely happy.
I'm sanguine about the whole thing. I just believe so strongly the album will have legs and sell well and steadily and receive good critical reviews. I just hope the new single catches on as quickly as possible because I don't trust PDs not to stop spinning it heavily after the radio concerts end, making it harder to achieve the success I feel the CD will attain in the long run. I don't think that NCOE is an "explosive" kind of song on its own and feels like the kind that would take the slow burn trajectory if left to find its own way. RCA needs to give the single a Promethean push until it gains its own momentum and pull out all of the stops in creative and innovative ways doing whatever the hell it takes to make that song a hit and clear the path for the other fantastic music on the CD.
I love mika's idea for the NCOE video. I was wondering, along those lines, if they'd consider using regular people for some of the scenes? They could ask ordinary people around the world--of all races, ages, gender, sexuality, nationality, body type, etc.--to come to locations in their countries to film something for the video, and the video could sweep the globe in a time-lapse way to feature the groups of people. Or maybe do a "through the centuries" kind of thing, with one group of actors and dancers dressed up differently across different eras? And if not that then twirling. I envision a lot of twirling in the video.
