OT but in memory of Levon Helm. Someone reminded me it was important to remember musicians like Levon - and the songs that are passed lovingly from one generation to the next. Sad news. This song seems fitting today--Levon and his band covered it at a show I attended a couple of years ago and it was one of the most moving concert experiences I've ever had. Levon Helm was amazing. The Band made me realize what music could be. RIP.

Listening YleX Finland again after sending in my wish to hear NCOE (they play listener's suggestions tonight). Funny phone call from a singer in a band that has a gig tonight, doing soundcheck at the moment. The guy asked studio hosts that do you know anything about Queen playing on the other stage or is his crew member trying to fool him. Well, there seems to be some performance called Killer Queen, maybe a musical. The caller further explained that he had to call and ask because he was afraid that if Adam Lambert would be there and if there would be a possibility that he might come to see the caller's band later on, he might not be able to go on stage at all. Said also something about the range and that he could only try to sing in a very low (= could never measure up in higher notes). ;D
ETA Not too optimistic that they would actually play Adam because most of the songs have been heavy metal / rock oriented.

Seriously, this is from the "Where Are They Now" special edition which covers 120 contestants over the past 11 seasons. Adam is in the magazine along with a ton of other past contestants. |
