Radio add = placing a song a radio station's playlist. This is done by a PR (Program Director) or MD (Music Director). Spin = 1 full rotation or play of the track. Comes from when the DJs played vinyl records which were spun on a turntable. ETA: Yeah for NCOE on Live with Kelly!!! Choice was probably made by a producer not Kelly but she is an Adam fan. So maybe she is really a Glambert! I expect to here NCOE in a lot of places. I also am increasing the amount of virtual money I have on May 15th as the NCOE Impact Date. Thanks Q3

Writing that definition of "spin" reminded me that I remember radio with all vinyl and tape. I feel really OLD right now!!!
A bit like explaining dial phones to a 20 year old -- yes, it really worked and it was not that slow. :-/

musicallyinclinedfool.blogspot.co.uk/2012/04/review-adam-lambert-never-close-our.html[Review] Adam Lambert - Never Close Our EyesReleased April 17th, "Never Close Our Eyes" is the name of Adam Lambert's new single from his forthcoming sophomore album, Trespassing. The single was written and produced by Bruno Mars and Dr. Luke and serves as the follow up to "Better Than I Know Myself," which by most accounts was a commercial floppity-flop. "Never Close Our Eyes," sees the flamboyantly big-voiced Lambert return to his dance-pop glory days in this pulse-pounding new dance-floor-ready new single. Stylistically, "Never Close Our Eyes" is right in Lambert's wheelhouse, echoing the same sound of his past club friendly hit "If I Had You." Lambert does his thing, belting out the big chorus, his voice soaring over the bangin' electro-rock beats and sleek production. It's clear that Lambert's looking for another anthem, and "Never Close Our Eyes" very well could be it. Here's hoping radio latches on to this one more than they did with the lead single. more

From that "Instinct" article..."A laugh, marinated in tension, inspires him to get a little more personal."
That sentence just made me giggle.

I wonder if someone can explain to me what a radio add is? and what a spin is? thanks! An add means it is officially on their playlist. However, a station can add but rarely spin. :( An add does not automatically mean spins. Spins mean the station is actually playing it. Spins are what Mediabase uses for its charts. hmmmmm....thanks!

I also just requested NCOE as write-in on KYKY Y98 (Hot AC) in St. Louis. Also I noted that BTIKM was now on their mediabase form, and so requested that too. AdamRocks, get with it! Let's TRESPASS together. Good morning! Heathcliff I am on it!! I did my requesting of both songs just now!! Yeah...Trespassing together it is!! ;D And we need to let Shadow know too!! Q3 thanks for making up that amazing radio stations list!! You made it really easy for all of us to find our stations so we can be 'busy little bees' requesting!! ;D

Haha!! Yes! It seems like a sensible conclusion. (See bolded print above) And with a little direction from TPTB, think how much more could be accomplished! We await marching orders... ;D ;D Ha ha so true, we do wait 'orders'. He says 'do' and .....we do!!! ;D

That sentence just made me giggle. does that mean...the interviewer is feeling tense, then burst out laughing and then adam responds with more self-disclosure a la his infinity exchange mechanism? ;D
